          Tim Buckley

Tim Buckley - Coloured Vinyl Reissue

This self-titled work is Tim Buckley’s debut album, originally released in 1966. Most of the songs were co-written by Buckley and Larry Beckett while still in high school. It also features lifelong friend and collaborator Lee Underwood as well as Van Dyke Parks. This mostly folk oriented album was the start of an incredibly versatile career in which he later incorporated jazz, psychedelia, funk, soul and avant-garde.

The album is released as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on gold coloured vinyl.

British shoegazing/alternative rock band Chapterhouse released two albums during their existence, Whirlpool (1991) and Blood Music (1993). Their debut album is a fantastic example of shoegaze at its best. The wall of sound approach is built around dance music structures and they’re creating some heavy grooves. Whirlpool spent 3 weeks in the UK Album chart in 1991, peaking at number 23. This classic is definitely set in the nineties but has stood the test of time.

Frengers is the third album by Danish band Mew, originally released in 2003. The title is a portmanteau of the words friend and stranger. A frenger is a person who is "not quite a friend but not quite a stranger" according to the album's accompanying information.

                Arrested Development

3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days In The Life Of...

3 Years, 5 Months & 2 Days in the Life Of... is the debut album by American Hip Hop group Arrested Development, released in 1992. The album's chart success was the beginning of the popularization of Southern Hip Hop. The album stood in stark contrast to the gangsta rap that ruled the Hip Hop charts in 1992, in its focus on spirituality, peace and love. It was voted as the best album of the year in The Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics poll. The album's title refers to the length of time it took Arrested Development to get a record contract. The album charted at #3 in the UK Charts, and #7 in the Billboard 200. Charting singles that came off the album are "People Everyday", "Mr. Wendal" and "Tennessee". The latter song is part of the The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll list.

                  Troublegum - Reissue

Therapy? are an alternative metal band from Northern Ireland. The band was formed in 1989 by guitarist-vocalist Andy Cairns and drummer-vocalist Fyfe Ewing. To complete the lineup, the band recruited bassist Michael McKeegan.

1994 saw the release of the commercially successful Troublegum album which earned the band appearances at a string of rock and indie festivals, including Reading, Donington and Phoenix in the UK alone, as well as a clutch of top 40 singles. It achieved a string of nominations in end-of-year polls, including a Mercury Music Prize nomination, and success at the Kerrang! Awards.

The album has a melodically dark, metal-like sound. Troublegum is generally considered to be Therapy? at their musical and commercial peak and has since sold over one million copies worldwide.

The album includes singles and videos for “Screamager”, “Turn”, “Nowhere”, “Trigger Inside”, “Die Laughing” and “Isolation” (Joy Division cover).

                    Death In Vegas

                    The Contino Sessions

Scorpio Rising is the third album by British electronica band Death in Vegas, which features guest vocalists Liam Gallagher, Hope Sandoval, Nicola Kuperus, and Paul Weller. Death in Vegas’ Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes created one of their finest records by combining synths with guitar rock and psychedelia. A taste of “My Bloody Valentine” and some electro pulses are thrillingly constructed in the different parts of the album. They’re using different samples in their sounds, so you can hear classics like “Rock Around the Clock” (Bill Haley & His Comets) and “Goin’ Back” (The Byrds). Several songs on the album have appeared on film soundtracks, “Girls” is featured on the soundtrack to the 2003 film Lost in Translation and “Hands Around My Throat” is featured on the Animatrix soundtrack.

Richard Fearless is the only active member of the original Death in Vegas line-up. Their sound is influenced by rock, dub and industrial music.

                      The Coral

                      Magic And Medicine

The Coral are an English rock band, formed in 1996 by Ian Skelly, Paul Duffy, James Skelly, Lee Southall and Bill Ryder-Jones. The band first emerged during the early 2000s and found success with their debut album The Coral [MOVLP338]. Their self-titled debut album was nominated for the 2002 Mercury Music Prize and later voted the fourth best album of the year by NME Magazine.

Magic and Medicine is the second album by The Coral, released in 2003 in the United Kingdom, where it debuted at number 1 in the charts. The singles “Don’t Think You’re the First” and “Pass It On” entered the top ten in the UK.

The album title originates from a lyric in Time Travel, the hidden track on the band’s debut album: “Well there’s a war going on, ain’t the obvious one. It’s between magic and medicine”.

This is The Coral’s last album with Bill Ryder-Jones, who departed in 2008 to start a very successful solo-career.

                        Outside Your Room EP

Outside Your Room is the fourth EP by English shoegazing band Slowdive, released in 1993, two weeks prior to the release of their successful album Souvlaki. The title is taken from the lyrics of the song “Alison”, which reached No. 69 in the UK Singles Chart. Side A also features the lazy lurcher “So Tired”. The flip side features the hypnotic, smouldering near-instrumental dub of “Souvlaki Space Station” and closes with “Moussaka Chaos”.

This rare and sought-after EP is now finally available as a limited edition of 4000 individually numbered copies on red & gold swirled vinyl. The jacket has a special deluxe “alubrush” finish. The package includes an insert with the Slowdive catalogue.

Blood Music - Coloured Vinyl Reissue

British shoegazing/alternative rock band Chapterhouse released two albums during their existence, Whirlpool (1991) and Blood Music (1993). The second and final album has a more pronounced electronic sound than its predecessor. But they also managed to keep many elements of shoegaze in their music. This thrilling record defines their music in singles like "She's a Vision" and "We Are the Beautiful". The album ends with the awesome "Picnic," a 15-minute ambient/rock piece that arguably was their best-ever number.

I Am Kloot - Coloured Vinyl Reissue

I am Kloot is the second album of the band by the same name. Their music is haunting, melodic, and smooth. This second piece yielded five singles, including the hits "Life in a Day" and "3 Feet Tall". It's much more than just a standard rock album. Songs like “From Your Favourite Sky” and “Proof” are just brilliant and show their development after their first release from two years earlier. It's all a bit more streamlined than before but that's the strength of the band. John Bramwell is a fine songwriter who created this beautiful marvel.

                                    Tin Machine

                                    Tin Machine II

Originally released by Victory Music in 1991, Tin Machine II is the second and final studio album by Tin Machine. After this album and the supporting tour, frontman David Bowie resumed his solo career.

Tin Machine II’s reputation has only increased over the years. Uncut magazine placed the album on their list of 50 Great Lost Albums (their list of great albums not currently available for purchase), calling the album “extraordinary”.

As with all Bowie albums, there are plenty of strong tracks here to make this a must have. Opening track “Baby Universal” is pure Bowie. He re-recorded this track in 1996 for his 1997 album Earthling, but the track was not released on the album. It was eventually released in 2020 on the Bowie EP Is it Any Wonder?. The first single “You Belong in Rock n’ Roll” was released ahead of the album and peaked at No. 33 in the UK. The second single “Baby Universal” achieved success on the Modern Rock chart in the USA, where it reached No. 21, and the third and last single “One Shot” became an even bigger hit, reaching No. 3.

The album’s cover (which was censored for its original USA release!) was created by Edward Bell, who had previously worked with Bowie in making artwork for Scary Monsters. The MOV cover features a spot varnish finish.

Music On Vinyl gives Tin Machine II its first vinyl re-release since the 1991 original, and it’s pressed on coloured vinyl for the very first time. The initial pressing is a limited edition of 10000 individually numbered copies on silver coloured vinyl.

                                      I Am Kloot

Gods And Monsters - Coloured Vinyl Edition

I Am Kloot released their third album Gods And Monsters in 2005. They chose once again to stay true to themselves and to their sound, delivering this perfectly crafted album, which reached #74 in the UK Album Charts. Formed from the ashes of The Mouth, I Am Kloot stood up and released some very successful releases.

Gods and Monsters is available as a limited edition of 1000 individually numbered copies on orange marbled vinyl. The package includes an insert.

                                        The Wannadies

                                        Be A Girl

Swedish rockers The Wannadies reached internationally stardom by releasing their third album Be A Girl. Single “You and Me Song” became the group’s biggest hit, peaking at number eighteen in the United Kingdom. The song featured on the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann’s film Romeo + Juliet (starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio). But the magic of the album goes further, “Might Be Stars” became another UK hit, and sounds exactly like the Britpop from that time. The sound of summer is what makes this record so wonderful, from the start to the end.

                                          Todd Rungdren

Reluctant to start a full-fledged solo career after leaving the Nazz, Todd Rundgren formed Runt, a band that was a front for what was in effect a solo project. Such isolationism lends Runt its unique atmosphere -- it is the insular work of a fiercely talented artist finally given the opportunity to pursue his off-kilter musical vision.

From the moment the slow, bluesy psychedelic grind of "Broke Down and Busted" starts the album, it's apparent that Rundgren could never have made Runt with the Nazz -- and that's before the introspective ballads or the willfully strange stuff kicks in. Throughout the record, Rundgren reveals himself as a gifted synthesist, blending all manners of musical styles and quirks into a distinctive signature sound. He's as interested in sound as he is in song and while he would later pursue these tendencies to extremes, Runt finds him learning how to create an effective sound with the studio, which may be the reason why the album runs the gamut from hard rockers like "Who's That Man?" to ballads like "Once Burned."

Although these songs are instantly appealing, the album really gets interesting when he reaches between those two extremes, whether it's in the classic pop medley "Baby Let's Swing," the bizarrely tongue-in-cheek "I'm in the Clique," or the equally impish "We Gotta Get You a Woman," which gave Rundgren his first hit. All the details buried within these songs -- not only in the deceptively direct productions, but within the writing itself -- confirm Rundgren's exceptional skill at songcraft. He occasionally slips on Runt, delivering tracks that rely on production instead of a blend of studiocraft and songcraft, but it remains a thoroughly impressive debut and one of his finest pop records--All Music

                                              Matthew Sweet

                                              Altered Beast

Matthew Sweet is an American singer-songwriter and rock musician. He was part of the burgeoning music scene in Georgia during the ‘80s, before gaining commercial success in the ‘90s. His fourth album Altered Beast was recorded together with some famous musicians, like Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac), Jody Stephens (Big Star) and Richard Lloyd (Television). It covers all sides of his musical personality, going from country-rock to punk. It’s a quite dark album, presenting Sweet’s pain in different aspects of life. “I don’t like knowing people. I don’t like people knowing about me” he sings. The best part is just to see this album grow after a few listens and that’s when it all falls together.

Altered Beast is available as a first pressing of 1.000 individually numbered copies on transparent blue coloured vinyl.

Hawkwind’s debut album is an extensive mix of psychedelic and progressive rock, resulting in the so called space-rock. As one of the pioneers in this genre they recorded a bunch of deep soundscapes, combining the best of different genres. The sound of the band is original and the approach is naive in a good sense. This debut can be seen as the highlight of their career, capturing the true spirit of this raw and communal musical movement. The Pretty Things guitarist Dick Taylor produced the debut album by Hawkwind, after he had left his former group.

                                                  Wings Of Joy

Cranes’ first full-length album Wings of Joy was released back in 1991. The strange combination between gothic sounds on one side and the dream pop on the other side marked a new decennia of music.

It’s one of those debut releases which throws you straight into the deep end. The varied tracks alternated between the heavier and lighter songs. It is gloomy, haunting and almost sinister in its atmosphere despite being made up almost entirely of piano and synth melodies.

Siblings Alison and Jim Shaw formed the band Cranes back in 1989. They recorded several successful albums, including 1991s Wings of Joy and 1994s Loved.

Tindersticks are an English alternative rock band led by the singer Stuart A. Staples. They recorded several albums which became popular years after their release. One of them is the slightly bright but still dark coloured Curtains. The songs on the album develops themselves into intimidate and destructive pearls. Stuart and Co created some melancholic melodies questioning on privacy issues and the feelings of lost. The warmer tones can be found in the vocal parts and putting away some of the depressive moods from their first albums.

Tindersticks recorded eleven albums to date and recorded songs for which Stuart A. Staples wrote lyrics based on his own life and that of people surrounding him.

This expanded edition contains the 15 original album songs plus 9 bonus tracks with, among others, “Paco’s Theme”, “A Marriage Made In Heaven” (duet with Isabella Rossellini) and “Rented Rooms”.

                                                        Return Of The Sophisticated Beggar

Roy Harper’s first solo album was originally released in 1966, The Sophisticated Beggar, and by 1970 he had met up with Pink Floyd manager Peter Jenner and re-released his debut as Return Of The Sophisticated Beggar.

Roy Harper’s music can be best defined as progressive folk, but as his work is so varied there are many instances where his music transgressed these genre confinements.

He worked alongside greats like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, The Nice, Kate Bush and Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. Roy Harper is also recognized for his vocal contribution on “Have A Cigar”, the third track on Pink Floyd’s 1975 album Wish You Were Here.

Simple Pleasures - Expanded Vinyl Edition

Tindersticks is an English alternative rock band formed in 1991 by Stuart Staples, Dave Boulter, Neil Fraser, Dickon Hinchliffe, Al Macaulay and John Thompson. In 1993 they released their first self-titled album, and the following years they recorded several albums, documentaries and film soundtracks. During the 90s Tindersticks stood apart with their dark, literary lyrics and melancholy orchestrations and were a different breed as both the British indie scene and the Brit-Pop sound dominated the UK charts.

Their fourth album Simple Pleasures steered the group into snappier and lighter songs, however the liner notes proved that the recording process was a painstaking experience. The respectful cover of Odyssey’s “If You’re Looking For A Way Out” is a perfect example of their new influences by soul, gospel and jazz music.

This Music On Vinyl Expanded Edition features the original album (9 Tracks) and no less than 12 bonus tracks, including “Twisted Wheel” (which is the demo version of “Can We Start Again”) and the Adrian Sherwood remix of “I Know That Loving”.

                                                            First Utterance

First Utterance is the debut album of the progressive folk band Comus. It was released in 1971, with the opening song “Diana” being released as a single.

The album was notable for its unique blend of progressive rock, folk, psychedelia, and elements of paganism and the macabre. The overall thematic tone of the album is of vulnerable innocence facing abusive power, the songs dealing with violence (“Drip Drip”), rape (“Diana”, “Song to Comus”), and insulin shock therapy (“The Prisoner”). These themes contrast starkly with the acoustic sound of the record, featuring acoustic guitar, violin, flute, and lyrical, almost Arcadian, female harmonies.

References to Comus by other bands and artists include Opeth, citing its lyrics in album and song titles and tattoos. Experimental outfit Current 93 also covered “Diana” as the opening song on their 1997 LP Horsey.

The cover artwork was drawn in ball point pen by Roger Wootton, lead singer and songwriter of the band. The centrefold artwork was painted by guitarist Glenn Goring.

Reviews were favourable, such as the NME praised the album’s “highly unusual but fascinating sound” and Time Out said “the overall effect is unique”.

                                                                Judee Sill

                                                                Heart Food

Despite garnering favourable reviews and even though the artist performed doggedly as an opening act for a number of established artists, Judee Sill's eponymous 1971 debut album sold poorly and failed to propel the Californian musician to stardom. Undeterred, she returned with 1973's 'Heart Food' backed by engineer Henry Lewy and a band of stellar musicians and vocalists for a record altogether livelier and more confident than her debut. 'Heart Food' is similar to its predecessor in that it features Sill's multi-tracked vocals prominently, and that guitar and piano are prevalent, but other than that it's a forward step. Sill's songs have a gospel purity to them at times, as on the solo piano piece "When the Bridegroom Comes," written with then-boyfriend David Bearden. The best of these hymnal songs is surely "The Kiss," a timeless and beautiful celebration of romantic union with painstaking orchestration. It has an eerie, ethereal quality, and is renowned as one of Sill's finest compositions. The arrangements and orchestrations, done by Sill herself, complement the songs and the music and if there were any doubts about her abilities she certainly proves herself an expert songwriter and visionary with this album. Listen out, for example, for the ebullient backing vocals on "Down Where the Valleys Are Low," her most gospel-inspired song replete with organ licks and vocalists evoking a gospel choir.

Elsewhere, the themes of the first album are recalled on "The Vigilante" and "The Pearl," although they're less fragile and more forthright. The opening "There's A Rugged Road" is possessing of a memorable melody and strong structure, which is the case with every song here. The delicacy of the first album is replaced by something beefier (the rollicking "Soldier of the Heart," which should have been a major hit, which rocks harder than Sill's previous pop attempt, the glorious "Jesus Was A Cross Maker") but the subtle intricacies remain: on the surface, this sounds simple and effortless, and that's testament to Sill's amazing abilities.

The album's defining moment, however, must be the epic "The Donor," which displays the majority of Sill's many talents. The first four minutes or so are devoted to choral chanting and haunting piano lines, and the song becomes a beautiful, grand choral requiem. The chorus of "Kyrie Eleison" is stunning, but the dynamics of the song make it more like a suite and one of the defining moments on any record by any singer-songwriter. It's hard to imagine anybody else even daring to attempt something as grand and opulent as this and having the audacity and skills to pull it off.

Jim O'Rourke (Sonic Youth) describes her music on the sleeve, 'take a listen to Judee Sill now, some 30 years after she was captured on two timeless masterpieces: Her overwhelming songs of love and loss, both earthly and divine; a voice which alone could melt all defenses and when in harmony, could create heaven, right here on earth.'

says: Very similar sound but even better songs than on her debut. Includes "The Kiss", which is absolutely gorgeous and for some, her best ever composition. If you don't already know Judee Sill well you won't believe how amazing her music is!

Originally released in 1982, it immediately put the band on the musical map. Turning the flamboyant Boy George into a star, the soulful outing incorporated elements of pop, rock, new wave, dance and Caribbean rhythms and sprouted several international hit songs.

All in all, this set is a highlight of 80s pop music, that set the stage for one of the decade’s most loved and oft-remembered bands.

A clever mix of psychedelia and classic scouse songwriting that propels this unlikely bunch of Hoylake scallies a million miles away from current musical trends. Taking influences such as Love, Captain Beefheart, Pink Floyd and adding a truckload of dope they have created a weird and surreal world without reducing it to unlistenable wackiness. Bewildering, enthralling, funny, exciting and completely free of the accepted notions of cool, this could well be the feelgood album of 2002!

When The Coral first arrived on the scene in 2001 with their EP 'Shadows Fall', the British press hailed them as their answer to the The Strokes. NME called The Coral the best new band in England. Their fervent originality struck a chord that kept on ringing until their 2002 self-titled debut release.

That's when the praise really started flowing in, as did the sailing references: they were even nominated for the Mercury Music Prize a day after the album was released. The Coral were jaunty, rambunctious and youthful (their oldest member only 21); their music was strangely coherent despite the obvious oddness and idiosyncratic nature of each and every song.

The psychedelic sheen doesn't hide a sturdy pop surface, though, and neither does is obfuscate the boatload of talent these young men obviously have. Unsettling and slightly disorienting, this is truly an interesting and memorable record, out on vinyl for the first time since a limited vinyl release in 2002!

                                                                      Yellow Magic Orchestra

                                                                      Service - Clear Vinyl Edition

The band dissolved the following year after a world tour, but would later reform in 1993 for a one-off reunion album, 'Technodon'. Each member would continue their already established solo careers, while Haruomi Hosono and Yukihiro Takahashi also formed the band Sketch Show (with Ryuichi Sakamoto assisting), which later turned into YMO.

Like '×-Multiplies', it contains a mixture of YMO songs and comedy sketches performed by Super Eccentric Theater, or SET Service features “You’ve Got to Help Yourself”, which was previously featured in instrumental form on the previous album, 'Naughty Boys Instrumental'.

Viewed as one of the world's most popular jazz singers, she performed alongside Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie, Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington. Her outstanding performances on record and live yielded both critical and popular success during her lifetime.

'Lullabies Of Birdland' consists of recordings from 1945 to 1955. It offers a wonderful set of Swing-era standards, impossible to listen to without imagining yourself sipping cognac in a smoky jazz club on Broadway!

I first discovered the music of Ella Fitzgerald in a small bookshop and had to know what was playing – It was ‘Under a Blanket of Blue’ with Louis Armstrong; it’s been a favourite of mine ever since. This incredible and powerful album is a treat to the ears.

Sixteen Stone is the debut album of British rock band Bush, released in 1994. Widely regarded as the band’s most popular album, it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and boasted numerous successful singles. “Comedown” and “Glycerine” remain two of the band’s biggest hits to date, each reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. Both tracks also entered the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 30 and No. 28, respectively.

Sixteen Stone received mostly positive feedback from music critics, calling their sound impressive, not unlike their Seattle Grunge counterparts. In later years Bush would distance themselves from the familiar Grunge sounds with experimental releases such as Deconstructed and The Science Of Things.

In April 2014 Rolling Stone placed the album at No. 39 on its “1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative’s Greatest Year” list. A month later, Loudwire placed Sixteen Stone at number eight on its “10 Best Hard Rock Albums of 1994” list. In July 2014, Guitar World placed the album on its “Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994” list.

Third Eye Blind is the eponymous debut for the American alternative rock band Third Eye Blind, originally released in 1997. It spawned several singles, including top 10 charting “Semi-Charmed Life”, “Jumper”, and “How’s It Going to Be”. While Third Eye Blind peaked at #25 on the Billboard 200, it spent 104 weeks on the charts. It is the group’s bestselling album, having been certified 6x Platinum.

Third Eye Blind is catchier than the average post-grunge album, and that fact alone reveals a lot about the band. Instead of relying on standard, plodding grunge influences, Third Eye Blind draw heavily from the simple hook-laden traditions of classic Arena Rock, which makes the album more immediate. Third Eye Blind is easy on the ears, and its straight-ahead professionalism makes it a pleasurable listen for post-grungers.

Hercules (2014) is a riveting adventure blockbuster directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne Johnson (aka The Rock), Joseph Fiennes, John Hurt and more. It is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars.

The film was a pleasant surprise to critics. The chief film critic for Variety wrote: “it’s a grandly staged, solidly entertaining, old-fashioned adventure movie that does something no other Hercules movie has quite done before: it cuts the mythical son of Zeus down to human size (or as human as you can get while still being played by Dwayne Johnson)” and further added that “[Hercules’s] strongest asset is surely Johnson, who continues to foster one of the most affable, guileless screen personas in movies today.”

The music epic, driving, classic and cool. All of these adjectives were used to describe the music desired by the creative team making Hercules. Composer Fernando Velázquez rose to the occasion and delivered a fantastic score. The recording sessions took place at Air Studios and Abbey Road Studios in London, with Fernando conducting the tremendous London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Korn is the eponymous debut studio album by the American Nu-Metal band Korn. It was released in 1994, right after the band toured with Biohazard and House of Pain. The album’s themes mainly consisted of both drug and child abuse. Korn was well received by music critics. The band stormed the alternative scene virtually overnight, and is said to have established Nu-Metal.

Bands like Coal Chamber and Limp Bizkit were inspired by the album’s rage, emphasising similar grooves and song structures, including some Hip Hop elements. Slipknot, Machine Head, and Sepultura were also inspired by the album. The album launched the career of record producer Ross Robinson, who later produced albums such as Three Dollar Bill, Yall by Limp Bizkit and Slipknot’s first two albums.

A little more than a year after release, the album went Gold in the United States. The album spawned 4 singles; “Blind”, followed by “Need To”, “Shoots and Ladders” and “Clown”. The album has now sold over 10 million copies worldwide and was never before issued on vinyl.

Vanishing Point - 180g Vinyl Edition

After a slightly disappointing album that explored tad-rock, Primal Scream returned to form in 1997 with "an anarcho-syndicalist speedfreak roadmovie record." They baptised it 'Vanishing Point', named after their favourite cult movie from 1971, and filled it with echoes of spy movies, cavernous dub, and '60s pop that created shoegaze mania that emphasized sound and groove. It was a triumphant return to the genre-bending electronic dance-rock and neo-psychedelica, but one with a heavier bounce to it than their seminal Screamadelica.

Bassist Mani from the Stone Roses joined ranks, added an organic funky foundation to Primal Scream's sound and ultimately saved the band. With contributions from Augustus Pablo, Glen Matlock, The Memphis Horns and a Darth Vader mask, 'Vanishing Point' is a throbbing album built on improvisation that works the rhythm into a psychedelic frenzy as rebellious as the film that inspired it.

Carrie is the 2013 remake of the classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl who is outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother. Carrie unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Lawrence D. Cohen and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, with top actresses Chloë Grace Moretz and Julianne Moore signing for the lead roles.

The haunting classical score by Marco Beltrami vividly accompanies the eerie and terrifying scenes of the film. The dynamic soundtrack is wonderfully suited for a vinyl issue, making this without a doubt an audiophile collectible.

Alanis Morissette defined the alternative female Pop sound in the ‘90s, with a string of hits under her belt from the million-seller albums Jagged Little Pill (1995) and Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie (1998). In 1999 she performed a selection of personal favourites live at MTV Unplugged, with an emphasis on the non-hit material from the Supposed album. Morissette wanted to prove she’s more than ‘just’ the hits she produced, resulting in her daring step to not perform some of her contemporary hits including “Thank U” and “So Pure”. MTV Unplugged shows a multi-faceted artist, fully grown into her own and strong as ever.

Original vinyl copies are extremely hard to find. To celebrate MTV Unplugged’s reissue, we’re pressing this record in a limited first edition of 1000 gold/red marbled copies. Be quick to snag one of these!

'Chain Gang Of Love', originally released in August 2003, is The Raveonettes' first full length album after they debuted with the critically acclaimed 'Whip It On' mini album in 2002.

Their sound has often been compared with that of the noisy and distorted Jesus And Mary Chain, while the Velvet Underground and even the vocal harmonies of the Everly Brothers are never far away either. The most noticeable difference in sound between the debut EP, which had all songs in B-flat minor, and this album is that here all songs are in B-flat major. The result is an album drenched in an uplifting fifties and sixties sound.

Because of this wall of sound you might expect a Phil Spector production, but Sune Rose Wagner himself (one half of the Danish duo which is The Raveonettes) and Richard Gottehrer (producer for a.o. Blondie and The Go-Go's, and founder of Sire Records) were responsible for this remarkable and uplifting release.

Three local teenagers were arrested and given life sentences, one of them was to be executed. Then in 2011, after a tireless campaign involving rock stars, movie actors and supporters from the public the three were released. These famous people all contributed to create awareness and prove the innocence of the three convicted men. Famed movie director Peter Jackson decided to shoot a documentary on the subject, called West Of Memphis: Voices For Justice. Amongst others, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and Patti Smith used their songs for various benefit activities for the case. Johnny Depp’s version of Little Lion Man, as well as all the other songs on the soundtrack, played an important role in the life of prime suspect Damien Echols whose innocence was proven in 2011. After eighteen years in prison he declared: “Music has always played a huge role in my life. In my early years it allowed me to escape the crushing poverty I was born into. Then, when I was put on trial, it was music they used against me. My love of heavy metal was considered ‘proof’ that I was evil and a satanic murderer. And then, ultimately, it was music that helped to free me” said Damien Echols.

Much is made of his older brother Brian's tortured genius, but Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson had his own deeply artistic statement to make - one he made with moody, heartrending beauty and fathomless, soulful introspection on his 1977 masterpiece, "Pacific Ocean Blue". Besides being the first solo album by a member of the Beach Boys, "Pacific Ocean Blue" is a lost classic of 70s West Coast rock, a richly orchestrated opus that swaths the singer-songwriter's delicate and profoundly personal observations in epic, wide-screen arrangements that easily match the drama of the celluloid blockbusters made in his Hollywood back yard. Awash in studio strings and layered, breathy melodies, the piano-sprinkled balladry of tracks like "Thoughts of You" and "End Of The Show" offer glimpses of a more tender, wounded, and never-before-seen side of this most famously free-spirited Beach Boys member; while such ecology-themed meditations as "River Song" (which boasts flashes of hard rock) and the title cut reflect other topics close to the drummer's heart. But despite the album's more serious subject matter, the Beach Boys' good-time pop is still firmly on deck with the horn-pumping R&B of "What's Wrong" and the sunshine lilt of "Rainbows". No wonder Brian Wilson himself is one of "Pacific Ocean Blue"'s biggest fans.
