      Barry says: A blistering new LP of soaring grunge hooks and Big Ed's unmistakeable vocal fire. It's a brilliantly recognisable sound that Pearl Jam make, but has just enough moments that veer outside of their already venerable canon to make it sound fresh. Lovely stuff.

        Vs. is the second studio album by American rock band Pearl Jam, originally released on October 12, 1993, through Epic Records. After a relentless touring schedule in support of their 1991 debut album Ten, Pearl Jam headed into the studio in early 1993 facing the challenge of following up the commercial success of its debut.

        The resulting album, Vs., featured a rawer and more aggressive sound compared with the band's previous release. It was the band's first collaboration with producer Brendan O'Brien and its first album with drummer Dave Abbruzzese.

            Rearviewmirror (Greatest Hits 1991–2003) is a two-part compilation album by American rock band Pearl Jam, originally released on November 16, 2004 through Epic Records.

            The album's two discs are both devoted to different sides of the band's catalogue: the first disc, or "Up Side", contains heavier rock songs while the second disc or "Down Side" consists of slower songs and ballads. Both discs are in chronological order, with the exception of the last song on the "Down Side", regular show closer "Yellow Ledbetter".

            Pressed on standard black vinyl.

            STAFF COMMENTS

            Barry says: This second edition of the Pearl Jam best of sees the band pull out their slightly more introspective numbers, with 'Elderly Woman...' and 'Nothingman' being two of my favourites. This one has a little less of the grit of the first part of the collection, but is the perfect listen when you want something a little more mellow.
