        Dig It! - 2023 Reissue

This LP comprises highlights from Bill Evans' earliest studio recording sessions. By September 1956, at nearly 27- years old, Evans already had many studio recordings under his belt, and a lot of playing experience. However, that month marked the making of his first recordings to be issued under his own name. Included here are unaccompanied piano tracks, but also wonderful selections by the Bill Evans Trio featuring such amazing partners as bassists Sam Jones, Scott LaFaro or Teddy Kotick, or drummers Paul Motian and Philly Joe Jones.

          Interplay - 2023 Reissue

Recorded in New York in July of 1962, Bill Evans' album Interplay showcased the pianist with four legendary players, trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, guitarist Jim Hall, bassist Percy Heath, and drummer Philly Joe Jones. It represents a rare treat, for up until 1962, Evans recorded primarily as a leader in the piano trio format and not with horns. Evans' interplay with these four musicians, each of them personal favourites of Bill's, produced a most unusual and remarkable album.

"Interplay stands as some of Bill Evans' most enigmatic and unusual music in makeup as well as execution. A welcome addition to the music shelf of any Evans fan." - Thom Jurek, AllMusic

"This is an important first LP- as- leader, and on any count, is one of the more creative modern jazz piano albums in a number of months." - Nat Hentoff, Down Beat

"Even in 1956 (more than a year before he joined the Miles Davis Sextet), Evans had his own chord voicings and a lyrical yet swinging style. A strong start to a significant career."- Scott Yanow, AllMusic.

              Chet Baker & Bill Evans

              Complete Recordings

Perennial jazz stars Chet Baker and Bill Evans rarely recorded together and this 2LP set, including a bonus track, represents all of their collaborative sessions.

By the time the music was taped, Chet was already known as much for his singing as for his trumpet playing, but all of the performances here are entirely instrumental.

After cutting these sides Baker and Evans would go their separate ways and these recordings remain the only testimony of their subtle and elegant musical interactions.

Portrait In Jazz - 2022 Reissue

Portrait in Jazz was Bill Evans' third album as a leader, following New Jazz Conceptions (1956) and Everybody Digs Bill Evans (1958). It was also Evans' first studio album with his legendary trio, featuring Scott LaFaro and Paul Motian. The repertoire here consists of standards (all of them treated in Evans' very personal style) plus two originals, "Peri's Scope" – premiered on Portrait in Jazz, and "Blue in Green," which was co-composed by Miles Davis. Bill first recorded the latter composition in March 1959 with Miles for the classic album, Kind of Blue.

                  Chet Baker & Bill Evans

                  Alone Together

The most significant aspect of this album, which first appeared as 'Chet - The Lyrical Trumpet of Chet Baker', is the interaction between Chet Baker and Bill Evans, two perennial jazz stars who only rarely recorded together. By the time this album was made, Chet was known as much for his singing as for his trumpet playing. This LP, however, is entirely instrumental and consists of nine ballads performed in the styles of hard bop to cool jazz.

The last track, 'I Could Have Danced All Night' (included as a bonus) is from Chet Baker's 'Best of Lerner & Loewe' album, which featured Bill Evans on four of its tracks. They were the recordings that Baker and Evens made together.
