Dave Davies & John Carpenter

Village Of The Damned (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (RSD21 EDITION)

THIS IS A RECORD STORE DAY 2021 EXCLUSIVE AND WILL BE AVAILABLE INSTORE ON SATURDAY JUNE 12TH ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS, LIMITED TO ONE PER PERSON.

IF THERE ARE ANY REMAINING COPIES THEY WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ONLINE AT 6PM ON THE SAME DAY (SATURDAY JUNE 12TH).

The Deluxe Edition for Village of the Damned presents the full score as heard in the film for the first time, a far more complete presentation then the 1995 Original Soundtrack which was not only truncated, but made of an entirely separate mix that wasn’t featured in the film. The set does however include the track, “Midwich Shuffle,” a fun number which was created specifically for the 1995 soundtrack despite never actually appearing in the film. Interest in John Carpenter's original film scores has never been higher, and his collaboration with Dave Davies of the Kinks is a one of a kind moment in cinematic music history. The album includes an all new original art direction with new notes and classic film stills and comes pressed on Orange Haze vinyl.

    Violent Femmes

    Add It Up (1981 - 1993)

The textbook American cult band of the '80s, Violent Femmes captured the essence of teen angst with remarkable precision. 40 years on, their legacy remains strong. 'Add It Up (1981-1993)' documents the trailblazing trio's stylistic development as they rose to become one of alt-rock's most commercially-successful acts.

This 23-track compilation includes hits such as "Blister in the Sun," "American Music," and "Gone Daddy Gone," plus live recordings of favourites like "Add It Up," and "Kiss Off," alongside a trove of demos, B-sides, interstitial voice recordings, and rarities. Available on vinyl for the first time since its brief initial pressing in 1993.

              R.E.M.

              Monster - 25th Anniversary Edition

R.E.M.’s ninth album, Monster, was released at a time when the band were coming off the peak of their mainstream success, following Out of Time (1991) and Automatic For The People (1992). Coming from a long break in touring (the band famously didn’t tour with the two previous records), Monster represented an intentional shift in R.E.M.’s sound, a “return to rock” with guitar laden, simple arrangements.

It was released to strong reviews and significant global success – reaching #1 on Billboard, and least 7 other countries. The album includes the singles; “What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?,” “Crush with Eyeliner,” “Bang and Blame,” and “Strange Currencies.” In 1995 the band promoted that album with their first concert tour since 1989 (although several band members suffered health problems).

                Vince Guaraldi

It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown OST

The Peanuts comic strip gang celebrates Halloween while Linus waits for the Great Pumpkin. The soundtrack to this 1966 American prime time animated television special once again features jazz stylings by the matchless Vince Guaraldi.

While Charles M. Schulz's Peanuts comic strip appeared daily in newspapers across the world, Vince Guaraldi's music helped bring the gang to wider audiences through his jazzy television and film soundtrack recordings. In the 1966 animated special It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, The Peanuts gang celebrates Halloween, with Linus hoping that, finally, he will be visited by The Great Pumpkin, while Charlie Brown is invited to a Halloween party. As usual Guaraldi's integral score drives the proceedings and steals the show!
