    Vince Guaraldi Trio

Charlie Brown Christmas - 2021 Coloured Vinyl Repress

Ahead of the 2021 holiday season, Craft Recordings is pleased to announce a special vinyl edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas—Vince Guaraldi Trio’s enduring soundtrack to the 1965 PEANUTS animated special.

Originally broadcast in 1965, A Charlie Brown Christmas is hands down one of the most beloved specials in TV history. Commissioned by Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, Vince Guaraldi and his trio rounded out by Monty Budwig (bass) and Colin Bailey (drums), composed and performed the timeless contemporary jazz score which wonderfully reflects both the spirit of the legendary Peanuts characters and the Christmas season.

A Grammy Hall of Fame inductee in 2007, A Charlie Brown Christmas was inducted into the Library of Congress in May of 2012 with the accompanying statement, “A Charlie Brown Christmas introduced jazz to millions of listeners,” and 45 plus years on it's still doing just that. Peanuts and Vince Guaraldi historian Derrick Bang even goes so far as to say, "Back people into a corner and limit them to just one holiday album for the rest of their lives, and I suspect that an impressive number of folks, jazz fans or not, would select this one!"

A Boy Named Charlie Brown - Baseball Card Edition

Original soundtrack recording of the CBS Television Special. Originally entitled 'Jazz Impressions of a Boy Named Charlie Brown', this is an important album not only because it is Guaraldi's first 'Peanuts' soundtrack, but also because the music heard here probably introduced millions of kids (and their parents) to jazz from the mid-'60s onward.

        Dave Davies & John Carpenter

Village Of The Damned (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (RSD21 EDITION)

THIS IS A RECORD STORE DAY 2021 EXCLUSIVE AND WILL BE AVAILABLE INSTORE ON SATURDAY JUNE 12TH ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS, LIMITED TO ONE PER PERSON.

IF THERE ARE ANY REMAINING COPIES THEY WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE ONLINE AT 6PM ON THE SAME DAY (SATURDAY JUNE 12TH).

The Deluxe Edition for Village of the Damned presents the full score as heard in the film for the first time, a far more complete presentation then the 1995 Original Soundtrack which was not only truncated, but made of an entirely separate mix that wasn’t featured in the film. The set does however include the track, “Midwich Shuffle,” a fun number which was created specifically for the 1995 soundtrack despite never actually appearing in the film. Interest in John Carpenter's original film scores has never been higher, and his collaboration with Dave Davies of the Kinks is a one of a kind moment in cinematic music history. The album includes an all new original art direction with new notes and classic film stills and comes pressed on Orange Haze vinyl.

          Violent Femmes

          Add It Up (1981 - 1993)

The textbook American cult band of the '80s, Violent Femmes captured the essence of teen angst with remarkable precision. 40 years on, their legacy remains strong. 'Add It Up (1981-1993)' documents the trailblazing trio's stylistic development as they rose to become one of alt-rock's most commercially-successful acts.

This 23-track compilation includes hits such as "Blister in the Sun," "American Music," and "Gone Daddy Gone," plus live recordings of favourites like "Add It Up," and "Kiss Off," alongside a trove of demos, B-sides, interstitial voice recordings, and rarities. Available on vinyl for the first time since its brief initial pressing in 1993.

                R.E.M.

                Monster - 25th Anniversary Edition

R.E.M.’s ninth album, Monster, was released at a time when the band were coming off the peak of their mainstream success, following Out of Time (1991) and Automatic For The People (1992). Coming from a long break in touring (the band famously didn’t tour with the two previous records), Monster represented an intentional shift in R.E.M.’s sound, a “return to rock” with guitar laden, simple arrangements.

It was released to strong reviews and significant global success – reaching #1 on Billboard, and least 7 other countries. The album includes the singles; “What’s The Frequency, Kenneth?,” “Crush with Eyeliner,” “Bang and Blame,” and “Strange Currencies.” In 1995 the band promoted that album with their first concert tour since 1989 (although several band members suffered health problems).
