ABOUT THIS ITEM
Friends since they were six years old, The Title Sequence is comprised of David Bailey (vocals & guitar) and Nick Crofts (Wurlitzer, synths & vocals). After messing around in various bands the guys were inspired by the music of Aphex Twin and began to buy up old synths and drum machines to add to their arsenal. A break of a couple of years was to follow allowing David and Nick to study and work on other projects (David released a solo album on Folkwit) before they reconvened in London in 2008 and began work in earnest on The Title Sequence.
The Title Sequence record, produce and play everything between the two constituent members, as many artists are doing now. But the results are miles ahead of most of the run of the mill independent bands doing the rounds. Combining slick song writing, obsessive understanding of their art and self taught studio smarts are all the things that make The Title Sequence so vital and exciting. One listen to ‘Dinosaurs’ will convert any doubters to their brand of unique pop.
The perfectly built instrumentation and pop melodies that make up ‘Dinosaurs’ demonstrate what makes The Title Sequence so special. But this is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a musical Trojan horse delivering a rare political message for freedom of speech and breaking down the out of date institutions and thinly veiled control methods used in society in 2012.
The other side is a remix of ‘Dinosaurs’ by Wax Stag, one of The Title Sequence’s favourite artists, who can also be seen touring with the likes of Friendly Fires and White Lies.
