Mistook Play for Play is a rephrase/rework of a line from a poem by David Harsent. The poem is called A Dream Book. The album itself is all about play and the track titles are all 'forms of play', taken from the 1961 book Man, Play and Games by the French sociologist Roger Cailkois.
STAFF COMMENTS
Barry says: While 'Mistook Play For Play' is conceptually lighthearted, it presents a rich palette of electronica, from full-spectrum drone to shimmering wooze. Stuart Cooke has managed to pull all sorts of emotional heft and driven, industrial weight from his instruments resulting in a playful but seriously enjoyable electronic feastTRACK LISTING
