The 'Psychedelic States' series cotinues apace with this super collection of psych from Alabama (of all places). The most obscure of bands still manage to produce some of the most interesting and unknown tracks. The bands names are the very epitome of the heady, hippy 60s - The K-otics, This Side Up, The Changing Tymes, The Jerks, The Mad Lads, The Stolen Children, The Seeds Of Time and the K-pers to name but a few. As usual with these Gear Fab releases there's a great booklet full of anecdotes from these outfits and their brief stabs at stardom.

Sporting one of the worst sleeve illustrations known to man it's no wonder this is an ultrarare 1974 issue by Michigan band Kopperfield. Full of authenticity and insightful sleevenotes the authenticity stretches to the sound quality: it was recorded in a bucket. Fast and frantic US prog, great riffing, their sound a mix of early Deep Purple and the US West coast bands.
