Funny Looking Angels

‘Funny Looking Angels’ is the collaboration album from Tom Smith (Editors) and Andy Burrows (Razorlight / I Am Arrows / We Are Scientists).

The album is a mix of original tracks and covers chosen because they remind them of Christmas in different ways. It features vocals from both Tom and Andy and an eclectic choice of cover versions, from Yazoo’s ‘Only You’ and Black’s ‘Wonderful Life’ to The Longpigs ‘On And On’ and cult Birmingham band Delta’s ‘Funny Looking Angels’, which also gave them their album title.

The album also features a guest vocal from rising star Agnes Obel in duet with Tom on the closing track, a sumptuous version of ‘The Christmas Song’.

Talk To Me, Dance With Me

Two tracks form their "Make Up The Breakdown" album: "Talk To Me, Dance With Me" and "Oh, Goddamnit" along with a live version of "Le Le Low". Jerky punk funk guitar rhythms, percussive drums and half chanting half wailing vocals. Add to that fun, catchy tunes and you've got some damn fine pop songs!

      The Sun

      Love EP

More high voltage garage pop like the Violent Femmes made before this lot were born. See.... rock'n' roll will never die! It's trashy, wild, carefree but clever. "Rockstop" sounds like an Clash while "Back In The Summer Of '72" is incredible: a dirty, cheap organ. tribal, muffled rhythms, distortion, a superb screamed vocal, it's like a truly deranged Hives. It's the killer track here but "Eye Lids Apart" being an acoustic ballad - you have four really strong songs, surprisingly diverse, but which play well together. Retro - active electronic rock'n' roll music.
