Miles Kane

Change The Show

Following a chance “no frills session” with psych-rock duo Sunglasses For Jaws at the band’s Hackney studio, Miles’ fourth solo album ‘Change the Show’ really began to take shape. “I saw myself in their energy, but also their taste and their knowledge of music,” Miles explains. “It was the first time I’d felt old!”

Opening with the honest soft croon of ‘Tears are Falling’, the album is a joyous ride from start to finish and features a surprising, but spectacular appearance from Grammy-nominated singer Corinne Bailey Rae for a duet on ‘Nothing’s Ever Gonna Be Good Enough’. ‘Don’t Let It Get You Down’, the first track released from the record, is Miles Kane at his very best: energetic, infectious and full of swagger, the track opening with a sample from fellow Wirral alumnus Paul O’Grady. It's an album that best represents Miles himself: charmingly authentic, and like nothing else you'll hear in pop music today.

“This album was born out of an intense period of self-reflection; having all this unexpected time on my hands,” Miles said of the last 18 months. “I wrote songs about big highs, big lows, daydreams, true friends and deep feelings. I learnt to let the future unfold of its own accord, while staying true to myself and that has led to what feels to me like a really uplifting album!”

A record for fans both new and old, ‘Change the Show’ is the Miles Kane album we’ve all been waiting for. The apotheosis of his previous works, incorporating those classic rock and glam influences, but focusing more closely on Motown, soul, and Fifties R&B.

    Time Flies

Time Flies, is an extraordinary collection that fuses intimate subject matter and upbeat guitar-led rock with irresistibly catchy electronic elements. In the half decade since her acclaimed 2016 album Wild Things, Pip has gone through a personal transformation.

Pip has openly struggled with mental health, anxiety and depression for a long time and, after dealing with severe postnatal depression + a serious skin cancer condition which has thankfully seen a full recovery, was able to successfully procure the right balance of therapy & medication which is so individually specific. When she embarked on writing songs for this new record in 2019, there was a sense of freedom in the work. “I was feeling pretty grateful to be alive and making music, so I felt like I didn’t ‘care’ anymore - not in a bad way, I just stopped overthinking it.”

Time Flies was produced with a host of incredible collaborators including, LA songwriter and producer Tommy English (K.Flay, Carly Rae Jepsen, Kacey Musgraves, Adam Lambert, Broods etc), Auckland based Josh Fountain (Leisure, Benee), Jeremy Toy (Leonard Charles, She’s So Rad) , Sydney's Chris Stracey (Bag Raiders, Paloma Faith, Diplo.) and Jono Sloan (Empire Of The Sun, PNAU).

      Popol Vuh

      Vol. 2 - Acoustic & Ambient Spheres (Boxset - 4LP + Prints & Posters)

After Popol Vuh’s release “The Essential Album Collection – Vol. 1” in 2019 the fans have frequently asked for another Popol Vuh event. Now finally the time has come:

This edition consolidates four significant albums from the 1970s and the 1980s, conflating ambient musical phases of Popol Vuh. It sheds light on their central, recurring motives and styles of rock music, folk-ethno-fusion, ambient music and two atmospheric soundtracks for legendary Werner Herzog movies. Ultimately, Fricke personally did not like it when his music was categorized in genres or typologies: “Call it Magic Music, or Love Music, if you like: it’s music for the soul. That’s it.”

The editions contains the albums Seligpreisung (1973), Coeur de Verre (OST for the Werner Herzog Move “Coeur de Verre” 1978), Agape-Agape Love Love (1983) and Cobra Verde (OST for the Werner Herzog Movie 1987). All albums have been newly remastered on heavyweight 180g audiophile vinyl including one bonus track per album. The vinyls appear with adjusted original artworks. The boxset is completed by three picture prints, a picture still from the Movie “Coeur de Verre” and the original movie poster of “Cobra Verde” (both in Din A3 format) and an insert with detailed liners and photos.

        Nina Simone

        The Montreux Years

Nina Simone’s story from the late sixties to the nineties can be told through her legendary performances in Montreux. Taking to the Montreux stage for the first time on 16 June 1968 for the festival’s second edition, Simone built a lasting relationship with Montreux Jazz Festival and its Creator and Founder Claude Nobs, which uniqueness, trust and electricity can be clearly felt on the recordings. Simone’s multi-faceted and radical story is laid bare on ‘Nina Simone: The Montreux Years’. From Nina’s glorious and emotional 1968 performance to her fiery and unpredictable concert in 1976, one of the festival’s most remarkable performances ever witnessed, the collection includes recordings from all of her five legendary Montreux concerts – 1968, 1976, 1981, 1987 and 1990.

Featuring rare and previously unreleased material from Claude Nobs’ private collection, Nina Simone devotees worldwide will be thrilled by the inclusion of the powerful I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free, poignant and fearless Four Women and Simone’s hauntingly beautiful performance of Ne Me Quitte Pas. A spine-tingling version of Janis Ian’s searing and potent Stars, which Simone covered for the very first time during her 1976 Montreux performance, sits alongside her bold and electrifying re-imagine of Bob Marley’s ballad No Women No Cry in 1990. The collection closes with the encore of Nina Simone’s final Montreux Jazz Festival concert and one of Simone’s most-loved and best-known recordings, the exuberant My Baby Just Cares For Me, showcasing the deep and multidimensional facets of Simone’s life and music.

          Swindle

          The New World

For the South-London raised composer Swindle, 2020’s global COVID-19 response managed to drive the impetus for his latest LP THE NEW WORLD, which unapologetically ushers in introspection, community and liberation into the ether. Initially numbed by the early pandemic and its halting of the music business, Swindle fought back, employing an “avengers equivalent” roster of Black British musical talent to craft his No More Normal follow up. “Everyone felt the same,” Swindle recalls. “We all just had to re-group. A retreat to figure this sh*t out and how we’re going to enter the new world.”

Recorded in just a week alongside Akala, Knucks, Ghetts, Daley, Greentea Peng, Joel Culpepper, Joy Crooks, JNR Williams, Kojey Radical Loyle Carner, Maverick Sabre and Poppy Ajudha, nine releases were conceptualised and recorded which personified ruminations experienced during the first England lockdown and aspirations for their future selves.

Swindle and his comrades refuse to shy away from their latent realities, honing in on death, love and grief across the project. The album will be accompanied by a visual narrative through videos, artwork, street art & canvas.

            Richard Ashcroft

            Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1

The album features twelve newly recorded acoustic versions of classic songs from his back catalogue spanning both his solo career and his time with The Verve.

After lockdown was lifted, Richard decided to start the project as a way to reunite the community around him, bringing a selection of great musicians and old friends back together again. As the project took shape, they discovered just how varied their new approaches could be. Some of the arrangements proved to be timeless and remained similar to the originals, with years of experience and a new found passion that saw Richard’s vocals express a fresh empathy within their lyrics. Meanwhile, other songs took on a new shape in this stripped-back set-up.

The rebirth of the iconic ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ was an emotional moment for Richard. It felt particularly poignant re-recording a song that he had written almost twenty-five years ago, especially as it's now officially his composition after Mick Jagger and Keith Richards relinquished their writing credits to him.

Another big moment comes with the new version of ‘C’Mon People (We’re Making It Now)’, a duet with Richard’s old friend Liam Gallagher. The pair have often talked about recording or performing the song together since it was first released in 2000, and now it’s finally happened - the sheer energy and delight that they shared during the session is palpable as the new recording beams with a joyous feeling of optimism.

‘Velvet Morning’ is another track that has been transformed. The vocals on the original version, as featured on The Verve’s classic ‘Urban Hymns’, were sung via a megaphone that Richard had purchased from a car boot sale the day before the recording session. Now Richard’s vocal really shines as it unleashes the song’s full magnitude.

The biggest surprise on ‘Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1’ is the inclusion of ‘This Thing Called Life’, a song which Ashcroft has rarely played live. It was originally recorded with No I.D. in the USA as a highlight of his soul-tinged RPA & The United Nations Of Sound project. Now taken back to basics, the new arrangement reveals a song that feels perfectly at home alongside Richard’s most highly regarded work.

Produced by Richard with regular collaborator Chris Potter, the album features his regular live band boosted by some special collaborators. Wil Malone provides the string arrangements, which were recorded at Abbey Road Studios. In addition, Chuck Leavell (The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers) performs piano, Roddy Bloomfield leads the brass section, and Steve Wyreman (Leon Bridges, Vic Mensa) contributes acoustic guitar and backing vocals.

                      Johnny Marr

                      Fever Dreams Pt. 1

Informed by the kind of powerful, anthemic and direct approach to words instantly present in ‘Spirit, Power And Soul’, the songs on the ‘Fever Dreams Pt 1’ EP arrive with an emotional potency. Fusing the language of soul music with his roots as a “Mancunian glam rocker”, lyrics that could be simultaneously personal, universal, and subtly political, with a fantastically expansive sound. The new EP reflects Johnny’s multifaceted past, but takes his music somewhere startlingly new.

Looking to 2022, Johnny was recently announced as the special guest on The Killers’ headline US arena tour, set to begin in August through to October 2022.

Marr’s solo career has given rise to three critically acclaimed UK Top Ten albums - The Messenger (2013), Playland (2014) and 2018’s Call The Comet. His continued creative journey has seen him at the heart of The The, Electronic, Modest Mouse and The Cribs, as well as working with The Pretenders, Talking Heads, The Avalanches, and most recently Billie Eilish, recording the score and soundtrack for the forthcoming James Bond film, ‘No Time To Die’ with Hans Zimmer.

                        DMA's

I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You

A short, sharp joyride of a record, ‘I Love You…’ represents a tribute to DMA’S’ long-term hardcore fans as well as to the love of rock music that still powers the band’s beating heart. It’s a reminder of where they came from and how far they’ve come. Regardless of how big they get, they’ll always be the same band that used to throw a mattress against the wall to record demos in Johnny Took’s flat.

DMA’S started recording demos when they were quarantining in Canberra ahead of their performance at the 2020 AFL Grand Final. Inspired by the freedom of working with no pressure or expectations, the songs quickly emerged with an organic yet intensely focused vibe. After brief sessions in Coogee with Dylan Adams (who engineered the band’s earliest recordings, including the Platinum hit single ‘Delete’), DMA’S had crafted an EP which blends the vibrant familiarity of their early days with the taut immediacy that they have since mastered.

“This EP was in the natural trajectory that you can sometimes take in a band,” says Johnny Took. “You work with different producers and you want to keep changing, but there’s also something in your core that pulls you back. It’s cool to get back to your roots sometimes.”

That’s not to say that this EP is a regression. Instead, it showcases how versatile and how muscular the band’s songwriting has grown since those early days. The single ‘We Are Midnight’ captures the atmosphere of hitting the open road, its distorted layers of shoegaze guitar and immediately anthemic hook echoing their love of the British indie scene. Similarly, the opener ‘1 Way’ is faster, denser, and louder than anything that appeared on ‘The Glow’. Meanwhile, ‘Viol’ has a pop instinct that belies its origins as a song written by Matt Mason on a Czech dobro, while the band’s first electric guitar ballad ‘Junk Truck Head Fuck’ features some of their most vivid and fully realised storytelling, with a bittersweet lead vocal courtesy of Tommy O’Dell.

Eagle-eyed fans might already recognise the EP’s title. A friend of the band had left the message ‘I Love You Unconditionally, Sure Am Going To Miss You’ on a whiteboard before she returned home from Australia. It later featured in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot in the video for their debut track ‘Delete’.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath - Coloured Vinyl Reissue

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is the fifth studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in December 1973. The album marked the band's fifth consecutive platinum selling album in the United States. It reached number four on the UK charts, number eleven in the US. In the UK, it was the first Black Sabbath album to attain Silver certification. The album would go on to be regarded in high esteem by the band members themselves.

                            Cassia

                            Magnifier EP

Cassia make music to take control of their emotions. When the Macclesfield trio (Rob Ellis - lead vocals/guitar, Lou Cotterill - bass and Jake Leff - drums) first formed, they used song writing to embellish reality, covering up dull days with colourful tunes. Now they're crafting powerful, intentional songs that cut straight to the heart: drifting through their daydreams and daily anxieties as if in real time, giving space to doubts, fears and self-reflection. The result is empowering, for the band as much as the listener.

The last twelve months have been a time of deep introspection for the trio, who have been holed up together in Berlin, living, writing and recording in the same house. Stranded far from their loved ones, and with their joyful live shows on hold, they've playfully dubbed it 'Casa de Cassia'. The stillness and focus is worlds apart from their life as a band until now. In their airy top-floor studio, dislocated from all that's familiar, Cassia have found real fulfilment in writing about the every-day: no more covering up.

'Magnifier', and its sister record, February's 'Powerlines' EP, are the first releases that Cassia have made, start to finish, without anyone else in the room. "We've worked with amazing engineers and producers in the past," acknowledges Rob, "but this time it feels entirely ours. It sounds exactly how we want it to sound." Stay tuned for more new music and information on its release to follow.

                              Super Furry Animals

Rings Around The World (20th Anniversary Edition)

The fifth studio album from Welsh quintet Super Furry Animals was their most commercially successful to date. A musically eclectic record, incorporating pop, prog, punk, jungle, electronica, techno and death metal, the album was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize in 2001 and named as Mojo’s best album in the same year.
The Super Furries had a knack of taking bits of 60s classics, modern electronics, and everything inbetween and melding them into flawless, if slightly off kilter, pop gems and here they did it to perfection.

                                Garbage

                                Garbage - Remastered Reissue

I've been a big fan of Garbage since I first heard them and while Version 2.0 was definitely my jam, I absolutely loved this self-titled LP when it came out. The frantic electronic percussion and Vig's trademark sound providing a perfect counter to Manson's snarling vocals.

Kicking off with 'Supervixen', it was pretty clear that we were onto something special, perfectly displaying their keen juxtaposition of electronic heft and melodic indie, switching from distorted mayhem to clean and spooky in the click of the fingers. It goes without saying that the heavy-hitters here are the always-on-radio 'Only Happy When It Rains' and almost ubiquitous 'Stupid Girl', but there are very few moments that stray from excellence, with pieces like 'Vow' and 'Fix Me Now' being generally unheralded but resolutely stunning, and showing hints of what was to come on 2.0.

                                  STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: Here's where it all started. 'Queer', 'Only Happens When It Rains', 'Stupid Girl' ALL sounding exactly as fresh as the first time around, this was the startling genesis of a band that never quite sounded like anyone else. A truly essential document of the late 90's grunge / indie scene.

                                  Garbage

                                  Version 2.0 - Remastered Reissue

This was for me the pinnacle of Garbage's early days. Yeah, the self titled LP had the more rawkous, uncompromising grunge of 'Stupid Girl' and 'Only Happy When It Rains' but for me, the 1-2 punch of 'I think I'm Paranoid' and 'When I Grow Up' perfectly laid the groundwork for the euphorically tender second half of the LP.  From the glitchy gothic orchestration of 'The Trick Is To Keep Breathing' to the busy quiet-loud masterpiece that is 'Sleep Together' (*that key change*, spine tingles every time), there is no mistaking that Garbage had set the scene for the electronic indie sound of the 00's. There's something unique about Vig's production here too, lurching between chaotically busy and almost still without breaking step.

                                    STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: It's surprising really that the band that made Version 2.0 could be the same band that made their self-titled debut, with that ostensibly being a grunge album and this veering almost full-force into electronic indie. The tracks here hold up supremely well too, with exactly the moments I remember from the first time around sounding just as good as when I heard them in the late 90's.

Nina Simone: The Montreux Years is released as part of a brand new Montreux Jazz Festival and BMG collection series “The Montreux Years”. The collections will uncover legendary performances by the world’s most iconic artists alongside rare and never-before-released recordings from the festival’s rich 55-year history, remastered in superlative audio. Each collection will be accompanied by exclusive liner notes and previously unseen photography.

                                      Garbage

                                      No Gods No Masters

Garbage return with their seventh studio album ‘No Gods No Masters’, to be released 11th June 2021.

“This is our seventh record, the significant numerology of which affected the DNA of its content: the seven virtues, the seven sorrows, and the seven deadly sins,” says Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson of the band’s ferocious new album No Gods No Masters and its twists and turns from capitalism and lust to loss and grief. “It was our way of trying to make sense of how fucking nuts the world is and the astounding chaos we find ourselves in. It’s the record we felt that we had to make at this time.”

Since releasing their eponymous debut album in 1995, Garbage has blazed a unique sonic trail, garnering critical acclaim and amassing a passel of hits as well as seven Grammy nominations along the way to 17 million albums sold.

No Gods No Masters is a big, bold and indignant record – overtly political and socially charged in a way that the band has not been before. Its songs touch on themes ranging from global unrest and encroaching climate change (“The Men Who Rule the World”) to the Black Lives Matter movement (“Waiting For God”), to the Me Too movement, sexism and misogyny.

Barry says: I've heard a few Garbage albums since 1998's 'Version 2.0', but none of them have really captured groove and intensity of that career-defining moment, until now. 'No Gods No Masters' sees Manson and co reinvigorate that quintessential late-90's sound into an entirely adjacent but wonderfully renewed take. With the electronic intensity of the early LP's punctuated by wonderful moments of pop levity, it's a superb listen all round.

                                        Gary Numan

                                        Intruder

Intruder is the first new music from the iconic and influential Gary Numan since 2017’s album Savage: Songs From a Broken World, which charted at #2 in the UK.

Intruder sees Gary reunite with producer Ade Fenton, who previously produced four critically acclaimed albums for Numan: Jagged, Dead Son Rising, Splinter and Savage.

With a career that has spanned nearly four decades, his approach to electronic music remains an inspiration to artists across genres and eras, from stadium goliaths such as Depeche Mode, Prince and Nine Inch Nails to alternative heroes such as Beck, Damon Albarn and Marilyn Manson. Even Kanye West owes him a debt, and David Bowie once credited him with “writing two of the finest songs” in British music.

Gary has had 23 top 40 singles and 15 top 40 albums in the UK. The British electro pioneer was also awarded the Inspiration Award for songwriting and composition at the Ivor Novellos in 2017.

2020 saw Gary release his critically acclaimed rollercoaster of an autobiography, (R)evolution.

Barry says: There's always a rightful furore when Gary Numan releases new music. As one of the pioneers of Synth music as we know it today, it really is hard to overstate his importance, and this newest outing just goes to show why. A brilliantly inventive and constantly groundbreaking artist with a seemingly endless pool of musical expertise.

                                          Quiet Life - 2021 Remaster

That Japan’s breakthrough record Quiet Life was released in both 1979 and 1980 is uniquely fitting for a band who were about to step out of the glam rock, post punk shadows of the late 70s and deliver an as yet genre-less record that would come to define the 80s.

Quiet Life was the third, final and most successful release on the Hansa Records label. A forerunner for the alternative/new wave sound of the new decade, the album would become one of the great classic British albums.

The record is now the subject of a major new reissue featuring a brand new Abbey Road half-speed remaster of the original album, alt mixes, b-sides, singles, rarities and live material – including the sought after ‘lost’ Live at Budokan show from March 1980 previously only available as the 4 track EP ‘Live in Japan’.

We are working directly with original band members Steve Jansen and Rob Dean, producer John Punter and with consultant advice from band biographer Anthony Reynolds and the Japanese Shinko archive.

The release features newly restored original album artwork, new liner notes with contributions from band members and original producer, rare and unseen photography and memorabilia.

                                              Live At Brixton

“Our first ever show in the UK was the opening slot at Brixton Academy so this is just totally emblematic of the support that has grown overseas we are ever grateful for. It’s still the greatest show we have ever played and we will never forget that night. See you all soon! Stay safe.” DMA’S

On March 6th, 2020 a sold-out audience filled the O2 Academy Brixton’s cavernous space from wall-to-wall. The band played the biggest headline show of their career to date half a planet away from home, yet the show conjured the atmosphere of an intimate homecoming celebration.

The O2 Academy Brixton show was immediately hailed as one of the highlights of the band’s career so far, and it has taken on whole new significance given the events that have followed. For many fans it was their final show before live music events were halted.

From early favourites ‘In The Air’ and ‘Lay Down’ to new material such as ‘Silver’ and ‘Life Is A Game Of Changing’ from ‘THE GLOW’ The show is documented in the ‘Live at Brixton’ album, which will be released almost a year to the day later on March 5th. ‘Live at Brixton’ will be released on a striking smoke-effect pink/orange limited edition double vinyl. Its design was inspired by a flare that was set off during the show. The album offers a chance to reminiscence on the life-affirming power of live shows, and also an inspiring reminder of what we’re all looking forward to returning to.

                                                Your Low

It’s been ten years since Groove Armada released their landmark album ‘Black Light’. They’ve been active in recent years - DJ sets, select live shows and the ‘Twenty One Years’ compilation - yet the prospect of a new album seemed unlikely. That all changed when they stepped out at the Boomtown Festival and saw the reaction from long-term fans and newcomers alike.

Initially they planned to complete some half-finished ideas that remained from the ‘Black Light’ era. Elements of the title track and ‘Holding Strong’ both remain from that original plan, but ultimately their creative connection resulted in their upcoming seventh album.

As always with GA it’s a melting pot of styles, but in contrast to the guitar laden sound of their last album, the Grammy nominated “Black Light”, the uniting stylistic thread here lies somewhere between Hall & Oates , Prince and Roxy Music.

‘Edge of The Horizon’ features a whole range of vocal talent, from friends and neighbours to the godfather of UK Garage Todd Edwards who appears on ‘Lover 4 Now’, out today. A summer anthem of positivity, love and togetherness, Todd’s signature vocals shimmer above a straight-ahead Italo-disco groove.  It was made with a moment in mind. “Ibiza. Poolside at Pikes, that time of the evening when day becomes night, and anything seems possible”.

Groove Armada’s flair for blending electro elements with the energy of a live band remains at the heart of the record. In fact, the foundations of this album are the memories of the 15 years they spent on the road playing dance music live. The legendary GA tour bus parties had a strong dose of yacht rock on the playlist. ‘Holding Strong’ is an unashamed salute to the best of those searing emotional highs of the 80s. NYCs She Keeps Bees heads up the title track, born out of a groove left on the cutting room floor during the chaotic Black Light sessions.

Chicago house music icon Paris Brightledge deploys his iconic tones on two tracks, and Empire of The Sun and Pnau’s Nick Littlemore features on the lockdown anthem, ‘Get Out on the Dancefloor’.

Matt says: Downbeat darlings Groove Armada serve up a late career treat for long standing fans of this iconic act. Featuring some excellent collaborations it finds the pair in a spell of relaxed creativity, eclectic as ever but with a warming, heart-felt message. Full marks!

                                                Suicide

Suicide - Art Of The Album Edition

By the Summer of 1969 the US hippie dream lay in tatters but the cultural influence exerted by New York City would echo loudly through the decades that followed and no louder than it did with the incendiary electronic NYC duo, Suicide, who came to notoriety nearly a decade later. If dismissive at first, the music press have gone through something of a dramatic U-turn in more recent years with many mainstream publications now regarding Suicide’s 1977 debut as a stone cold classic.

It sits at #39 in Pitchfork’s Top 100 Albums Of The 1970s; it placed at #441 in Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time; and reached #236 in NME’s The 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time.

Four decades later, we are only just now counting the positive cost of their influence across genres such as techno, noise, electro clash, goth, synth pop, psych and industrial. However, a sense of their vital impact can be discerned from the number of cover versions of Suicide tracks there are delivered by the likes of Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, Peaches and R.E.M. Elsewhere they have had been praised widely by Nick Cave, Jim Thirlwell and M.I.A. and count Jason Pierce (Spacemen 3/ Spiritualized), Lydia Lunch, Nik Void of Factory Floor and Savages as fans. This Art Of The Album edition of Suicide sees the record remastered and presented in its original form and packaging, with in-depth liner notes covering the context, craft, impact and legacy of the album.

Darryl says: Still sounding as fresh as the day it was released back in 1977, this New York proto punk / industrial / avant-noise album finally gets the reissue it really deserves. “Remastered and presented in its original form and packaging, with in-depth liner notes covering the context, craft, impact and legacy of the album.”

‘Can U Cook?’ has Steve mixing up all of his much-loved ingredients to deliver a fresh new record that’s full of sunshine, as well as being a good ol' Seasick mix of boogie, blues, rock, americana and folk-music.

Savage (Songs From A Broken World)

Savage: Songs From A Broken World’ is the 22nd studio album from Gary Numan. Released on BMG this an album with a narrative that’s set in an apocalyptic, post-global warming Earth in the not-too-distant future. There is no technology left and most of the planet has turned to a desolate desert wasteland. Food is scarce, water even more so and human kindness and decency are just a dim and distant memory. Western and Eastern cultures have merged, more because of the need to simply survive than any feelings of greater tolerance or understanding. It’s a harsh, savage environment, as are the survivors who still roam across it.

                                                      Out Of All This Blue

The Waterboys will release their brand-new studio double album Out Of All This Blue on September 8 2017; their first for BMG Records, with whom they recently signed.

Produced by Mike Scott and recorded in Dublin and Tokyo , Out Of All This Blue will be available on Double CD and Double Vinyl, plus Deluxe Triple CD (including Bonus Tracks) and Deluxe Triple Vinyl (including Bonus Tracks) and Digital.

Out Of All This Blue is The Waterboys most exploratory recording yet, comprising 23 songs with Mike Scott's trademark sharp lyrics set to pop music with echoes of classic R&B, country, soul and funk and underpinned by modern hiphop production values and rhythms. String & brass sections were arranged and conducted by Trey Pollard of The Spacebomb Collective. Mike Scott says of the record: "Out Of All This Blue is 2/3 love and romance, 1/3 stories and observations. I knew from the beginning I wanted to make a double album, and lucky for me - and I hope the listener - the songs just kept coming, and in pop colours."

Cabbage’s Record Store Day release, a double vinyl compilation of their first 3 EPs entitled 'Young, Dumb & Full Of…’, was one of the days most in-demand releases, with all 1000 copies selling out in hours. 'The Extended Play of Cruelty' is the latest offering from the bro-punk outfit. The band recently signed to Infectious Music (Alt-J, Drenge, Albert Hammond Jr, Leftfield, DMA'S).
