American Football

American Football - 25th Anniversary Edition

After quietly releasing their self-titled debut album in 1999 while still in college, American Football disbanded after the album’s release to focus on other projects, only to reunite 15 years later to a fanbase that had been consistently growing throughout the underground / emo scene. The album later appeared on Rolling Stone’s “40 Greatest Emo Albums of All Time” list at #6, with Pitchfork giving its deluxe reissue the “Best New Reissue” title, calling it the “most influential album in the genre.” To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album’s release, Polyvinyl are releasing a new remastered edition of the album with re-imagined artwork and packaging.

      The Get Up Kids

Something To Write Home About - 25th Anniversary Deluxe Edition

After 25 years, The Get Up Kids’ classic second album, 'Something to Write Home About', is still recognizable as the same electrifying, scrappy album it was upon release, but also transformed by time into one of the most seminal records of the band’s scene. To celebrate the album’s 25th anniversary, Polyvinyl Records is thrilled to announce a special deluxe reissue. The album has been meticulously remastered from the original tapes and will be paired with a slew of bonus material, including rare demo versions of multiple songs from the album as well as never-before released rarities from the era. Originally released in September of 1999, Something to Write Home About has been established as an importan late-millennium rock-and-roll document; a convergence of power
pop, alternative rock, and punk, it provided the parameters for emo’s Midwest-centered second wave.

On Oceanator’s third full-length album, 'Everything is Love and Death', songwriter Elise Okusami showcases her exceptional pop sensibilities, delivering 11 tracks full of melodic depth and lively energy. Produced by Grammy nominated engineer/producer Will Yip (Title Fight, Turnstile, Bartees Strange), the new album features some of the biggest and boldest songs Okusami has ever written, such as the anthemic and sludgy 'Drift Away', featuring backing vocals from NNAMDÏ.

Oceanator’s music has been praised in outlets such as Stereogum, Pitchfork, NPR and SPIN, who described Okusami as having “the kind of voice that can silence a room.” The band has shared the stage with the likes of Jeff Rosenstock, Laura Jane Grace, PUP, and others with a notable touring history across North America and Europe.

          Of Montreal

          Lady On The Cusp

On Of Montreal’s latest album, 'Lady on the Cusp', Kevin Barnes shapeshifts between genres with each song. On tracks like 'Rude Girl on Rotation', Barnes revisits sounds of late 60’s guitar pop & psychedelia reminiscent of 2013’s 'Lousy With Sylvianbriar', while 'Young Hearts Bleed Free' and 'Music Hurts The Head' showcase Barnes’ love of experimental funk pop that has been present throughout much of the band’s discography. 'Lady on the Cusp' is another exciting listen from one of the most prolific and influential artists making music today.
