Hellhounds On The Prowl

A cult following has grown around enigmatic boy/girl deathly dark duo Dolium. Starting in Sheffield where songwriter Reece Adamo and his domineering bassist Ms De Vine made their first tracks with a drum machine and through a series of intense and disturbing live performances found fans amongst Sheffield's musical A-list with members of Pulp and Human League both declaring love for the band. These maniacal shows very quickly started to attract a large dedicated following and hundreds of crazed fans would queue outside the Leadmill to see an intense 25 minute graveyard slot where Adamo convulsed and flagellated himself on stage, throwing himself through drum kits and into mosh pits which were lovingly doused in petrol, all gleefully watched by Ms De Vine as she towered above her subjects battering home viscous bass lines and sickeningly sweet harmonies. Dolium take their influences from the likes of The Birthday Party, Pixies, Sonic Youth, Joy Division, Big Black and The Velvet Underground but the result is what the Independent Newspaper called 'mesmerising in its twists of moods and pace... full of hooks and tunes, it's a refreshing sound'.
