Jill Furmanovsky & Noel Gallagher

Oasis : Trying To Find A Way Out Of Nowhere

Dramatic, iconic, tumultuous: this is the story of Oasis, as seen through the lens of legendary photographer Jill Furmanovsky and edited by Noel Gallagher. Jill has been documenting the phenomenon that is Oasis since 1994 and the Definitely Maybe tour, through the tense and difficult shows for Dig Out Your Soul in 2009 and, following a hiatus, to a new beginning in 2025. Featuring more than 500 exceptional photographs from her archive, this book includes acclaimed and classic shots alongside swathes of candid, behind-the-scenes images, many of which are published here for the very first time.

With unprecedented access, Jill was able to capture strikingly emotive images, recording the band’s raw energy, humour and – at times – their vulnerability. ‘Oasis permitted closeness,’ she commented, ‘and that was a great gift to me as a photographer.’ Weaving sequences together to craft stories and stitch montages, the book brings you right into the room with the musicians. Noel’s foreword is followed by an introduction by Jill, while three expansive pieces by acclaimed author Simon Spence, publicist and writer Johnny Hopkins and music columnist and novelist Laura Barton chart Oasis’s early, mid and late eras.

Jill and Noel’s reflections, alongside the photos, give the inside track on key moments, revealing the intimate friendship between band and photographer and reminding us of a remarkable era in music history, right to the edge of their 2025 reunion tour. This is a book to treasure long after the final encore.

Hannah Read

Way Out I'll Wander

Much anticipated second album from Brooklyn-based Scottish singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. Way Out I’ll Wander was produced in New Hampshire and upstate New York by Charlie Van Kirk and features a cast of musicians including Jefferson Hamer (Anais Mitchell), Jeff Picker and Sarah Jarosz.

The recordings capture Read’s formidable songwriting in intimate arrangements which reflect her background in traditional Scottish and English folk while also calling to mind the ice-cool delivery of Mary Lorson or Nina Nastasia. The songs set characters in a finely-drawn geography of wooded slopes and crisp, clean air - city lights flickering on the horizon - to explore time and place from Hannah’s migrant perspective.

Hannah spent her youth playing fiddle and singing in the rich traditional music scenes of Edinburgh and on the Isle of Eigg, a remote Island off the west coast of Scotland. With musical training at The City of Edinburgh Music School, The American School of Modern Music in Paris and the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Hannah gathered the musical tools, vocabulary and experience that propelled her into the thriving Brooklyn music scene.

She has performed throughout the USA, UK, Canada and Europe with her own self-titled project, as well as with the likes of Julie Fowlis and Grammy Awardwinning Sarah Jarosz. In 2017 - as part of the Songs of Separation project alongside Eliza Carthy and Karine Polwart - Hannah won a BBC Folk Award for Best Album. “One of the finest singers of our day” - MOJO

Let Us Never Speak Of It Again

Out Hud release the follow up to 2002's "STREET DAD", keeping up associations with !!! (for whom Tyler Pope, Nic Offer and Justin Vandervolgen also play) and LCD Soundsystem (for whom Tyler Pope also plays bass). "Let Us Never Speak Of It Again" was recorded in Washington DC, before the band returned to their New York house to have it mixed and deconstructed by band member Justin Vandervolgen. The album is an indefinable feast of filthy grooves, spectral sounds, tribal beats and haunting melodies that is unmistakably their own and yet immediately familiar, with tracks influenced by sources as various as Adrian Sherwood, Larry Levan, Judy Nylon, Dr Dre, dub, disco, The Neptunes, Timbaland, Lenky and Dancehall. It's been called 'Freak Sh*t' and it's been called 'Mutant Disco', inevitably it's going to be one of the defining records of 2005.
