Beggars Banquet

    After the screaming girls, the drug busts and the sprawling psychedelic folly that was "Their Satanic Majesties...", the Stones returned to their bluesy Eel Pie Island roots for '68s "Beggars Banquet". Inaugurating their run of classic albums that established them as the best rock'n'roll band on the planet, the tracks "Sympathy For The Devil" and "Streetfighting Man" may loom over the others but fans know that "No Expectations" ranks as one of their best songs. The album is dominated by acoustic guitars which makes the occasional bursts of electric all the more ear splitting and, in "Salt Of The Earth" features Mick and Keith (both singing) at their most righteous.
