Originally chosen as the first single to be taken from Bryan Ferryís 1987 album BÍte Noire, the groove laden The Right Stuff evolved from a collaboration with guitarist, Johnny Marr. Based on Marr's Money Changes Everything, written for The Smiths, the track evolved into a slice of sophisticated dancefloor action and, for the clubs, spawned 12î, dub and ëBrooklyní mixes of the track. For Record Store Day 2024, ëThe Right Stuffí E.P. brings together the BÍte Noire original, plus its í87 mixes, and a previously unreleased new mix by Johnson Somerset, whose previous credits include remixes for The Temper Trap, alt-J, Duran Duran, Blondie, Katy Perry and Bryan Ferry himself in the shape of his startling reworkings of ëSong To The Sirení and ëAvonmoreí. Whilst staying true to the originalís spirit of uptown cool, the slow-burning Johnson Somerset Remix unravels and extends ëThe Right Stuffí into a smouldering, atmospheric triumph.
