V-NECK

After resurfacing in 2017 with Chicago Bee Records, label owner Mark Churcher has received a steady stream of interest for his old label Emote and in house band V-Neck (with Doug Martin). The repeated interest of the 90s label has sparked this re-issue.

Now a monstrous 25 years old it would appear this record is still very much appreciated by the few that bought it at the time. And until now extremely hard to find with only 500 pressed in 1995.

Side A fuses ambient, dub and techno at a time when this sound was still developing as a sub-genre.

Side B leans more towards dark electronica and techno with hints of Warp, in particularly their flagship act, Seefeel. Moody and esoteric.

No Neck Blues Band

Letters From The Earth

One of the most enigmatic, mysterious, and defiantly anti-commercial groups to emerge from the New York loft scene during the 90s, the No-Neck Blues Band formed in 1992 around a consistent core of multi-instrumentalists who have stubbornly and admirably insist on individual anonymity. Incorporating elements of folk, drone, psychedelia, free jazz, noise, and just about everything else, NNCK have nevertheless carved out a distinctive sound from complementary and disparate component elements. "Letters From The Earth" was NNCK's first digital output and is a document of their first ever outdoor Orthodox Easter concert in 1996. This double CD outputs 111 or so minutes worth of this group's dizzying array of sonic blattage, cable disruption, tribal tranceadelics and trip or drone aesthetic.

    The Radio Beats

    Ready To Shake

12 tracks of shake your ass, swing your hips, garage punk rock. The Radio Beats first release is imbued with catchy Devil Dogs riffs, guitar speed of the Dwarves, and it is actually louder than Iggy Pop's "Raw Power". Listen to this release and the Radio Beats will have you dancing the night away like you were hepped up on speed or downing ephedrine all night. The Radio Beats travelled all the way from Pittsburgh, PA to Virginia Beach to record this record with their idol, Steve Baise of Devil Dogs and Vikings fame. Steve in a weekend power session, recorded these twelve tracks and dug deep down in the mix to bring you all the hooks that any garage punk rock band needs.

      The Red Neck Manifesto

      Loopy Lou Meet Jimmy Jo

Three great tracks from Dublin's The Redneck Manifesto. "Loopy Lou Meets Jimmy Joe" is cleverly cut, melodic yet disjointed rock. "OK Frenchie" is a much different affair as a warm fuzzy vocal floats over a soothing backing track. "Pat Sherrill Jokes" ebbs and flows full of time signature changes and dynamic guitars. For fans of Billy Mahonie, Papa M, Black Heart Procession etc.
