The cover shot sees John and a huge bag of collie weed with Babylon in hot pursuit via helicopter. Subject matter is lighthearted with a typically JA slant. John is one of reggae's most successful and respected artists and in 2004 he was honoured by the Jamaican government with the Order Of Distinction for his contribution to Jamaican culture!

Seminal dub album produced by Winston Edwards. In 1974 Edwards left Jamaica to reside in the UK and through his strong connections with such reggae luminaries as Joe Gibbs, Lee Perry and King Tubby began to travel back and forth between London and Kingston (JA) to bring back recordings to issue on his Fay Music label here in the UK. In 1974 he released this seminal dub set, which is now considered a classic early Tubby’s dub album. A musical, tuneful and seriously heavy dubwise set with Vin Gordon’s unique trombone lines well to the fore. Essential dub.

                                  Riddimentary - Diplo Selects Greensleeves

Thomas Wesley Pentz aka Diplo - one half of the production team behind the popular hybrid reggae project Major Lazer lends his eclectic ear and considerable talents as a reggae selector to Riddimentary, a guided tour through classic tracks from the Greensleeves reggae catalogue. The continuous blended mix covers twenty plus years of cutting edge, Jamaican and UK hits from the top producers in dub, reggae and dancehall from the 1980s and 90s. The retro flavor and historical context of these selections shines a light on Diplo’s production influences and expert knowledge of the reggae genre. For new converts to reggae or collectors of crucial tracks from reggae’s classic era, "Riddimentary" is rudimentary.
