The Stone Roses

So Young / Tell Me - 40th Anniversary Edition

40th Anniversary release of the debut single by Mancunian icons The Stone Roses. This is the first time this single has had an official re-issue and is a collaboration between Vinyl Revival and the original label Thin Line.

So Young and Tell Me were originally recorded and released in 1985 and produced by Martin Hannett. The original Stone Roses line up was Ian Brown, Andy Couzens, John Squire, Pete Garner and Alan Wren. Re-issued by kind permission from Thin Line to raise money for Young Lives Versus Cancer and other charities and both parties will be donating 100% of the profit.

    The Remixes - 2025 Reissue

Always a dancefloor friendly act, 'The Remixes' (originally issued 25 years ago) is the sound of the Roses biggest tunes revisited by many of the foremost names in UK dance music at that time – including legends such as Paul Oakenfold and Steve Osborne and fellow Mancunians 808 State and A Guy Called Gerald.

With fully restored artwork, including notes from the remixers, this 2LP set features some tracks that have really stood the test of time. As Allmusic.com commented: “808 State turns ‘Made of Stone’ into an aggressive, high-pitched piece of electro-pop. Rabbit in the Moon earns points simply for…. making over ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ into a slow acid house excursion. Elephant dares to twist ‘She Bangs the Drums’ into an echoing, spooky vocoder workout.”

Turns Into Stone - 2025 Repress

Originally released in 1992 (as a single LP), 'Turns Into Stone' pulled together many of the Stone Roses finest non album tracks - early singles, B-sides and extended versions – into one compelling collection.

It begins with their first release from their ultimately turbulent tenure at Silvertone Records, ‘Elephant Stone’ and includes perhaps the bands finest moment, ‘Fools Gold.’ An essential companion to their timeless debut album, like the latter it contains some of best British guitar-driven pop/rock of the era, here spread over four sides of vinyl, the better to showcase the stretched-out grooves that helped them to become, for a time, probably the most exciting and influential band in the country.

Barry says: More Stone Roses is never a bad thing, and you KNOW it's good if McQueen has the track as his ringtone (Elephant Stone). I've seen this a few times in my years in the shoppe, but not for a bit. Bangers.

The Stone Roses : War And Peace

The definitive story of The Stone Roses by Simon Spence, with an updated final chapter covering the reunion rollercoaster ride. From the Manchester backwaters to the worldwide 2012 tour, War and Peace lays bare the irresistible tale of the last of the great bands. .

Based on 400 hours of interviews with over seventy of The Stone Roses' closest associates, including six former band members, War and Peace is the first major biography of the band that defined a generation. Originally planned in collaboration with Reni, the reclusive drummer, this book had been a year in the making when the Roses, against all odds, announced their re-formation. It is a remarkable coda to an astonishing story.

In 1989 their debut album and the single 'Fools Gold' made them the most exciting British export since the Sex Pistols. With their incendiary aura the Roses became figureheads of the 'Madchester' movement. War and Peace traces the band's genesis, studded with violent gigs and abandoned recordings, and shaped by their infamous manager Gareth Evans.

The Roses' legendary gigs culminated in the era-defining Spike Island show in 1990. From this pinnacle the unravelling was spectacular. But the true story behind their rise and fall - and resurrection - has never been told.

          Until now.

The Stone Roses' The Stone Roses - 33 1/3

The Stone Roses shows a band sizzling with skill, consumed with drive and aspiration and possessing an almost preternatural mastery of the pop paradigm. This book explores the political and cultural zeitgeist of England in 1989 and attempts to apprehend the magic ingredients that made The Stone Roses such a special and influential album.

The Stone Roses - Vinyl Edition

                STAFF COMMENTS

Andy says: The Stone Roses' debut album from 1989 is that rare thing: a perfect record. The quality of these songs is actually hard to comprehend; absolute classics, every single one! Uprooting the established guitar pop format in favour of a loose-limbed groove the baggy icons somehow incorporated Byrdsian jangle, hippie-inclusivity, funk swagger and searing solos into a new type of rock music, single-handedly soundtracking the second Summer of Love and defining a moment in time. It ignited and united a whole generation and will be passed on forever. Beautiful.

                Turns Into Stone

When released in 1992, Turns Into Stone functioned as a sop to Stone Roses fans expecting another smash album like their eponymous debut album from 1989. Silvertone Records released Turns Into Stone as a comprehensive collection of early Stone Roses material, hits and B-sides of exceptional quality. Includes their biggest hit "Fools Gold"!

                  The Stone Roses

The Stone Roses - 20th Anniversary Special Edition

Originally released in May 1989, "The Stone Roses" is often cited as THE greatest album of all time. Twenty years on and original producer John Leckie has returned to the studio for the first time (it's never been remastered before) with Ian Brown, to produce this anniversary version of the record. The result is a warmer, brighter sound, and it's finally loud enough too! It seems unnecessary to add what a brilliant album this so obviously is: every tune's a winner!

                    The Complete Stone Roses

"The Complete Stone Roses concentrates on the band's first album, compiling the A- and B-sides of the group's hits from "Elephant Stone" to "One Love." In addition to the familiar material, the disc includes rare, early singles like "So Young" and "Sally Cinnamon" for the first time on compact disc, giving their classic material some context. There's a fair amount of classic pop here, and the rarities are necessary for dedicated fans." - Allmusic.
