Childe

Stoned & Supremely Confident

Childe is a refreshingly chaotic talent. You’ve likely never met anyone like him, and you probably never will. He is the living embodiment of a modern storyteller, an artist built on impurities inspired by the edges of life.

For some artists, an alter ego is something to hide behind. For Childe, it is a place to be free. Growing up with ADHD presented difficulties for the artist, constantly battling an overactive mind he was unable to turn off.

Childe is the voice of discomfort, but his empathetic tones ensure that listeners are welcomed, acting as an open invitation to the mind of the artist. His live shows are a cathartic and therapeutic experience. Those who have already seen him live will understand how big, raw, and emotive his voice is. Childe touches upon topics that are very rarely captured by a male singersongwriter.

‘Stoned & Supremely Confident’ was written between London and LA with Danny Presant. The album looks at segments of Childe’s experiences in life, writing about horror film versions of life moments, over-medicating, loving so hard you would die, a mushroom trip, the baby boomers and one very literal depiction of him trying to be a better friend.

    Never Going Under

Never Going Under is the band's highly anticipated fifth record, and the encapsulation of a continued upward trajectory for Circa Waves over the last decade. Becoming one of Britain's most influential and adored guitar bands, the four piece's dedication to constantly developing their sound has seen them secure increasingly high positions in the Official Album Charts, as well as amassing an army of dedicated fans.

Speaking about Never Going Under, frontman Kieran Shudall says: "Never Going under speaks to that uniquely modern phenomenon of genuinely not knowing what type of world our kids are going to find themselves in in 30 years. Physically, environmentally, politically we are completely in the unknown. That scares us all but ultimately we know we can never give up on the future because how can you? The songs on the album are written differently from the previous work we've put out. They are written from the perspective of my son and also from my own current experience of the climate today.

Never Going Under is a snapshot of the fear we all feel today and the resilience we will need to get through it.”
