Prince

Parade (Music From The Motion Picture Under The Cherry Moon)

Prince's eighth studio album and the last to feature his backing band The Revolution, Parade was, essentially, the soundtrack to his second film 'Under The Cherry Moon' and was viewed at the time as a creative comeback after what many people perceived as it's disapponting predecessor 'Around The World In A Day'.

Containing probably his biggest hit and scourge of every dj the world over 'Kiss' and a couple of lesser known, but absolute MONSTERS in 'Girls And Boys' and 'Sometimes It Snows In April' , 'Parade' is the sound of an artist at his creative peak.

Released in 1979 and written, arranged, composed, produced and performed entirely by Prince, his self titled second album was recorded in a matter of weeks and provided the commercial and critical success he craved after the lukewarm reaction to his debut ‘For You’. He would go on to reinvent and define a decade with each subsequent release but everything you could want from a Prince album is here and, nearly forty years later, ‘Sexy Dancer’ and ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover’ can still bring a discerning dance floor to its knees.

After three critically acclaimed Top 10 albums, a succession of major awards and a growing list of festival headline sets, Foals will be propelled to bold new heights with the August 28th release of their eagerly anticipated new album ‘What Went Down’. Produced by James Ford (Arctic Monkeys, Florence + the Machine), ‘What Went Down’ is an album that grapples with questions that are a world away from the bland bleatings of homogenised pop: permanence and impermanence; life and death; solitude; vulnerability; intimacy; passion; rage; humanity – weighty issues that make demands of the people creating that music, and of all those who listen to it, too.

Sonically, it’s an album that precariously seesaws between primal aggression and naked vulnerability. It’s an approach that delivers a contrast of muscular shocks with the fiery central riff of ‘Snake Oil’ and the menacing percussive march of ‘Albatross’ set against some of the band’s most openly experimentally moments to date such as cocktail of afrobeat and drum machines that underpins ‘Night Swimmers’ and the stripped-back, vocal-led ‘Give It All’.

    Faith No More

    Angel Dust

In 1992, after an extensive period of touring, San Franciscan rockers Faith No More released Angel Dust. The album swings between extremes—aggressive and disturbing, but also beautiful and soothing—showing off every facet of the band’s quirky eloquence on such diverse tracks as “Midlife Crisis,” “Jizzlobber,” “R.V.” and “Small Victory.”

Celebrating the classic albums that helped establish the band’s vital and visceral musical legacy Rhino Records releases a fantastic 2LP Deluxe Edition of Angel Dust. Featuring the original album and an additional disc packed full of rarities related to the album.

Among the tracks featured on the bonus disc is a mix of “Midlife Crisis” by the band’s longtime producer Matt Wallace, a trio of live recordings from a concert in Munich, Germany, as well as covers of the Dead Kennedys’ “Let’s Lynch The Landlord” and the band’s unforgettable take on the Commodores’ “Easy.”

      Muse

      Drones

Muse return with their new album “Drones”. Co-produced by Muse and Robert John “Mutt” Lange, the album contains 12 tracks.

Matt Bellamy said "To me, 'Drones' are metaphorical psychopaths which enable psychopathic behaviour with no recourse. The world is run by Drones utilizing Drones to turn us all into Drones. This album explores the journey of a human, from their abandonment and loss of hope, to their indoctrination by the system to be a human drone, to their eventual defection from their oppressors."

Twin Shadow aka George Lewis Jr. announces that he will release his new album 'Eclipse' via Warner Bros. Records.

Twin Shadow will play an exclusive and intimate show at London’s Electrowerkz on February 23rd. The show is co-presented by Beat Magazine and Eat Your Own Ears for London Fashion Week. Lewis and his band will return to the UK in Spring for a bigger headline show in support of the album.

Twin Shadow has released two previous albums on indie labels Terrible and 4AD, 2010's 'Forget' and 2012's 'Confess.' Live performances opening for Florence & the Machine and The Strokes, appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, plus his own headlining shows have earned George a reputation as a charismatic and compelling frontman. He has also performed on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and 'Conan'. His track 'Old Love, New Love' featured in 'Grand Theft Auto V' was named one of the best songs of 2013 by Rolling Stone.

        Tori Amos

Little Earthquakes - 180g Vinyl Edition

Emotionally and musically intense, 'Little Earthquakes' shows that the piano is as much a rock & roll instrument as the guitar. Tori Amos's debut (if one disregards 'Y Kant Tori Read', as one would be well advised to do) is at once listenable and challenging; she takes on every topic, from sex to gender to religion, in an uncompromising manner. Her music appears gentle at first, but this appearance is deceiving, as one quickly learns upon listening to the wrenching "Crucify" or the almost violent "Precious Things." By the time the album gets around to "Me and a Gun," sung hauntingly by Amos without accompaniment from her piano, the juxtaposition of Amos' sweet voice and the emotional complexity of her lyrics is both familiar and shocking.

                Foals

                Holy Fire

With two top 10 albums already under their belt, Oxford five-piece Foals return with their third and most exhilarating album yet.

‘Holy Fire’ has been recorded by prestigious production duo Flood & Moulder at Assault and Battery studios in London. Their previous work includes Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nine Inch Nails, and The Killers.

The first track to be showcased is ‘Inhaler’ - an electrifying, shamanistic tune set to purge the soul and raise the dead. Heavier than anything Foals have written before it nevertheless shines with their inimitable groove and funk.

Foals were nominated for a Mercury nomination with ‘Total Life Forever’. At the 2011 NME awards in they won ‘Best Single’ for ‘Spanish Sahara’ and were nominated for four other awards. They were also nominated for ‘Best Song’ for ‘Spanish Sahara’ at the 2011 Ivor Novello awards.

With her uninhibited imagination and her hands on approach in the studio, "Far" not only succeeds with thirteen impressive and accessible tracks, but it spotlights Spektor's remarkable gift to craft intelligent and refreshingly honest odes to life. Four exceptional producers collaborated with Spektor on this album: Jeff Lynne (ELO, The Traveling Wilburys), Mike Elizondo (Dr Dre, Eminem), David Kahne (Paul McCartney, The Strokes) and Jacknife Lee (Weezer, REM).

                The Subways

                All Or Nothing

Recorded in Los Angeles, the twelve-track "All Or Nothing" marks a tremendous progression for the band since the "Young For Eternity" debut. Freshly inspired by bands including Death Cab For Cutie and Refused, the result is an album that recalls the exuberance of "Young For Eternity" while embarking upon an adventurous sonic progression. The vehement opening riff of single "Girls And Boys" is a bold reintroduction to the band and is followed by the dynamic "Kalifornia" that contrasts the band's most vitriolic moment to date with an infectious, summery hook. Other highlights of "All Or Nothing" include the breezy, retro-pop of the title-track, the raw power of live favourite "Shake Shake" and the sun-kissed vocal harmonies of "Alright".
