HUDD TRAXX

From the other side of the Pennines, Hudd Traxx makes label history with its first-ever full-length album, "Dial Me In", from long-time affiliate Iron Curtis. IC has contributed more tracks across more releases than any other artist in the label’s history, so it seems apt that the label enlist him for their first long playing excursion.

Across the set, Curtis delivers a rich and varied journey through deep house, ambient textures, and eclectic grooves, flowing effortlessly from club-ready jams to moments made for home listening. It's crisp, high fidelity and produced with a keen ear for tantalizing, fresh sounds and enjoyably kinetic rhythms.

STAFF COMMENTS

Matt says: Super strong long player from IC on Hudd Traxx - Yorkshire's finest purveyor of deep house music! It's literally all hitter no shitter on this one, every track shins brightly with intricate synth patches, infectious rhythms and snappy arrangements.

DJ Sneak returns to Hudd Traxx with "For the Soul, Vol 2" - a follow-up to the first instalment, which sold out in record time. Solid, groove-heavy house with that incessant wiggle the producer is famous for! Sneak's a true veteran, active since the early 90s and never losing his charm.

Jason Hodges steps in on the remix with that unmistakable swing and low-end bump - taking it deep into Motor City territory.

Vinyl only, no digital, limited copies - you know what to do!

Brasilian Producer Apoena kicks off 2024 in style for Hudd Traxx following an impressive back catalogue of releases on labels like Jimpster's Freerange and Jus Ed's Underground Quality.

"Pure Feeling" opens up proceedings in a deep and hypnotic style reminiscent of Ron Trent and Chez Damier's early releases on Prescription. "Rico Balanço" follows in a similar vain oozing with raw Berlin vibes, which is where Apoena currently resides.

The B side features "In between The Beat" and the title track "Mystic" which are melodic & trippy groovers for early hour stretches. Top stuff as always from Hudd Trax.

STAFF COMMENTS

Matt says: Eddie Leader's long running house label isn't slowing down yet - and Apoena might be one of his hottest signings to date. Tipping its hat to Prescription records, there's a poise, depth and sophistication at play here which sets it aside from this week's other house also-rans. TIP!
