CONSOULING SOUNDS

Loud As Giants

Empty Homes

Collaboration between Dirk Serries and Justin K. Broadrick (Godflesh, Jesu). Talking about the nature of Loud As Giants, Dirk Serries marks that for both him and Justin K. Broadrick the project is more like 'a trip down memory lane.' Thirteen years after their collaboration as Fear Falls Burning and Final, these two kindred spirits return with an album that symbolizes their mutual fascination for the 80's culture in which they grew up and all the relevant and groundbreaking genres Justin and Dirk were influenced by.

    Jozef Van Wissem

Nobody Living Can Ever Make Me Turn Back

After the release of 2016's 'When Shall This Bright Day Begin', Jozef Van Wissem returns to Consouling Sounds for the follow-up album 'Nobody Living Can Ever Make Me Turn Back'. The album is inspired by a Vanitas painting by the Belgian artist Cindy Wright, which is also the cover of the album. This inspiration is beautifully reflected in the music of the album: Jozef Van Wissem's lute arrangements sound fragile, his sparse vocals delicate, as if the vanity, the temporality and senselessness of everything has been rendered audible.

      Noveller & Thisquietarmy

      Reveries

Consouling Sounds is proud to be able to give the Noveller & thisquietarmy collaboration “Reveries” a new life. The album was originally released by Shelter Press in 2014.

The album sold out in no time, is now available again on cd with new artwork and two bonus tracks from the Reveries recording sessions that didn’t fit the record release in support of Noveller’s EU tour. (See below for touring schedule) Reveries is the first collaborative effort of Noveller & thisquietarmy, two critically acclaimed lonesome composers welcoming us is an expanded guitar-based journey. Noveller is the solo project of Brooklyn-based composer Sarah Lipstate while Thisquietarmy is Eric Quach, unstoppable globetrotting musician from Montreal. Both use the guitar as their main instrument, creating some of the most impressive, hypnotic and rich-textured electric guitar works from the past years.

Recorded in January 2013 at Electric Blue Studios in Brooklyn, this new long player finds Sarah & Eric at their most luminous and aerial state, writing together layers of blissful drones resulting of a highly meditative and emotional four-parts piece.Recorded and mastered by Brian Wenckebach.

        Nadja

        The Bungled & The Botched

Nadja is a duo of Aidan Baker & Leah Buckareff alternately based in Toronto & Berlin. The duo makes music that encompasses experimental/drone, ambient, shoegazer, & doom metal.

Originally available as a very limited mail-order only CD in 2008, this was Consouling Sounds first release. It contains a re-recorded version of 'Absorbed in You' (which originally featured on the long time sold-out split album with Methadrone), and the new track 'The Bungled & The Botched'.

This disc provides a monolithic yet melodic assault of epic proportions.
