North Miami Beach’s The Belles were remarkably free of any masculine influence - an all-girl, teen rock band who played instruments, wrote songs,and were a good representation of multiculturalismin the 1960s. The Belles’ lone single featured ‘Melvin’, a gender swapped rewrite of Them’s ‘Gloria’, backed with Come Back’ Pure representation of girls in the garage.
