Manfredo Fest’s jazz-funk masterpiece ‘Jungle Kitten’ was the first release on the legendary Bluebird imprint back in 1979, and it has remained a classic ever since. Now Da Lata come through with their own gorgeous cover featuring broken beat legend Kaidi Tatham on synth and a whole crew of London’s best musicians rounding out the line up. This is organic dance floor pressure and fluid heavy grooving at the confluence of disco and samba packed with positivity and uplifting warmth. The B-side sees their epic version of Rafaella Renzulli’s “asking eyes” featuring Vanessa Freeman finally out on vinyl.
