Sydney indie duo, Royel Otis, share latest single ‘Heading For The Door’ from their upcoming debut album, PRATTS & PAIN due February 2024, produced with Grammy Award-winning producer, Dan Carey. ‘Heading For The Door’ is a self-confrontation exercise delivered via the airy, heartfelt & viscerally blissful indie pop that Royel Otis have become known for. The band share their meaning behind the track ; “Some of us understand that peace is precious but when the chaos starts to overcome just sit and accept it. Stop heading for the door.”

The debut LP, PRATTS & PAIN was named after the South London pub that sits around the corner from Carey’s famed home studio, the duo often finished lyrics and made sonic directions over a pint on a Pratts & Payne bar stool. Their resulting efforts swing between melodic, pop-inspired indie and woozy psych that never stays to one lane. Handbraking towards psychedelic weirdness and dissonant noise, Royel Otis have no issue keeping all who listen on their toes. After the release of two world building EPs, PRATTS & PAIN unites the record for their next chapter, adventures abound with no limits. Last in the UK in August for a tour of key cities, including a sold out show at OSLO in London, a Maida Vale session, Reading & Leeds winning over many new fans along the way!

After forming in 2019 and slowly drip-feeding music into the world during the pandemic, Royel Otis garnered fans in BBC Radio 6 Music, triple j and on US college radio. To date, they have amassed over 10 million streams & covered global playlists on Spotify and Apple Music. Most recently, Royel Otis were nominated as Breakthrough Artist for the 2023 ARIA Awards. The recognition follows a sold-out multiple-date Australian tour, a debut performance at Splendour in the Grass, and a rapturous sold out UK and European tour, including performances at Reading and Leeds Festival, Electric Picnic, Pukkelpop, End of the Road and more. All achieved in the first half of 2023 - and in support of their third EP, Sofa Kings. Next, Royel Otis will take to the United States, for a run of shows between capital cities throughout April and May 2024, before landing in Barcelona for Primavera Festival on May 29, 2024.
