First release on Black Rebel Motorcycle Club's Abstract Dragon label. Four track EP from duo Ryan and Paul Cobb recorded primarily with their bedroom four track. They trade roles on not only vocals, but all instruments from the guitar and bass to keyboards and drums. Home-made and lo-fi but crammed full of melodic invention. The jangle 'n' riff guitars and tolling bass remind me of mid-80s indie music, but lead track "Wheel" has jerky post-punk jarring verses which suddenly pour like honey into a pure pop chorus of epic proportions. Think Dinosaur's J.Mascis at his melodic best - tired, lovelorn and beautiful.
