Hailing from Augsburg in Germany, Raphael Schön represents a young generation of producers that draw their own conclusions from the golden days of dance music, whilst injecting his own contemporary flair and fun into proceedings.

On opener "Baerhit" , it's hard to ignore the influence of Todd Terje's "It's The Arps" - with its octave b-line, fizzy synths and steadily rising euphoria. "Do You Like That" pairs a catchy vocal hook to heads-down, driving synth work; reminiscent of Hot Creations or Crosstown Rebels. "Breathe" approaches hydro-foil house with a delicate hand - gliding bass, star-studded arps and sweeping atmosphere tailored perfectly to Running Back's long standing blueprint. "Want Me" possesses plenty of low end throb and trancy inflections - aiming squarely at the big rooms and lazer guided lighting rigs. "Distant City Tranceport" broaches the 'end of night epic' with both confidence and consideration. Finally, "Sometimes I Miss You"; with its heart wrenching vocal, melancholic chord progression and unrelenting energy closes off the EP with a nice emotional touch highlighting the depth of character of this rising producer. With six tracks on offer, it makes the post-Brexit, European import price tag a little easier to digest ;)
