After a two-year hiatus Georg (co-founder of Light of Other Days) is back with a new EP and a new moniker. Slow Glass takes us on a journey from dark ambient spaces to carefree dancefloors with the deft and languid touch that seems to characterize much of the label’s previous output. The productions are mainly based on heavily manipulated field recordings and everyday sounds encased within brittle electronic soundscapes.

There are lighter moments of melody and rhythm however, often breaking unexpectedly out from vibrant foliage which populates the record and in such way as to create suspension and drama. Decidedly un-Balearic compared to some of LOOD’s back catalogue, this is an arresting and accomplished addition to the label which captures a more electronica-minded demographic in its wide ranging dragnet.
