About this item

Remote follow up their head turning Various Artists release with this label debut from Dusseldorf's finest dancefloor export Garben (Gerben Eden). The "What Y Feel" EP comes hot on the heels of sell out releases on Ecstacy, Lampuka and Ethereal Sound, and sees Garben push his other wordly sound all the way through the looking glass. 'Vinyl' is a bass heavy, grime influenced tech house track with haunting synth sounds and tight machine drum percussion. It's exactly the kind of thing Marcel Dettman might play early on in a set, before he declares all out war on the system. On the flip, 'What Y Feel' is a deep and dope analogue house builder, reminiscent of his Vakula collaboration. Dreaming, hazy and drifting chords wash over you while a mean kick keeps you moving. This could very be mistaken for a long lost Pepe Bradock record. Secret weapon alert!!! EP closer (confusingly classed as side C????) "Baby" is a mellow head nodder that bubbles along at sub aquatic depth. A sweet vocal loop, jazzy bassline and smudged synth sounds melt together to form a beatdown groove treading water in a lysergic sea. The A-side will do serious damage for the main room masters, but it's the B-side that's the winner for me.
