Adventurous young UK pianist Andrew McCormack, back in the UK after a stint living and playing in New York, presents his new project, "Graviton". The music reveals his love of a broad soundworld, with jazz, rock and electronic textures set against a deeply rhythmic backdrop. ‘Graviton’ features a phenomenal band: Mercury nominees ESKA on vocals and force of nature saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings (The Comet Is Coming, Sons Of Kemet, Shabaka & The Ancestors); bass supremo Robin Mullarkey (Jacob Collier trio, Natalie Williams, Zero7); the simply astonishing Anton Eger (Phronesis, Marius Neset, Morten Schantz). ‘Graviton’ is Andrew’s debut for Jazz Village, following a brace of albums for Edition Records. He also continues his decade-long musical association alongside Kyle Eastwood in the latter’s Quintet.
