Those Too Slow To Disco cats are back at what they do best - super smooth edits on limited edition 10". Greek producer DJ "S" is a bit of a veteran of the edits scene and with his own downbeat sound he quickly became one of the big names in the European disco scene too. He perfected his craft as a multi-talented music producer, experimenting with vintage black sounds and reviving old-classics in the form of remixes which made a serious impact among the internet and on his YouTube Channel which counts thousands (over 260k) of faithful followers!

As usual they've got me scratching my head and Pasta Paul already feverishly ramming them in the front of his record bag ready for his next DJ set. Sub 110BPM throughout, with hefty lashings of beach-side soul - think big choruses, powerful vox, smatterings of horns and strings and of course, those ever important B-lines - rolling and warm like the best rare groove joints. 10 points for whoever emails in with a full house of track IDs! Highly recommended, limited copies!

Matt says: No one quite smooths out the edges like Too Slow To Disco. Theie limited edits series has uncovered 'nuff poolside cool and pure, timeless sun lounger classics time and time again for our discerning ears. DJ "S" keeps true to the remit and delivers four essential joints of slow swagger brilliance.

A1 Dj "S" - Groovin'
A2 Dj "S" - Sweet Love

B1 Dj "S" - Back Again
B2 Dj "S" - U

Four more beach balls from the Too Slow To Disco camp. Kicking off with Ben Jamin's "Over You" - a horn driven, string decorated, low slung disco-soul number that should gather the masses under its loving umbrella. David Bay then ups the BPMS on the proto-house sugar rush of "Save On Love". With massive synth line and Juno bass this should get arms aloft in no time at all.

Flip the disc and Saltywax pump the compressors and tweak the filters on "Hammer On The Block" a looped up disco cut reminiscent of Tiger & Woods or 6th Borough Project. Finally, Mikeandtess apply a similar, cut-n-looped formular to the smoochie, boogie flavoured "Hold Us". Bass heavy n bumpin throughout, with crisp highs and well defined mids; Too Slow To Disco edits are rightly pursued for their high fidelity pressings and supreme content. This one is no exception!

Matt says: The buy-on-sight series for Balearic grooves and slow disco goodness continues in earnest with some roster additions ushering in four tastefully and well executed cuts.

A1 Ben Jamin - Over You
A2 David Bay - Save On Love

B1 Saltywax - Hammer On The Block
B2 Mikeandtess - Hold Us

Those Guys From Athens

Too Slow To Disco Edits 10

Greece's DJ Snatch & Blacksoul team up as Those Guys From Anthens for a double 7" of slo-mo goodness synonymous with DJ Supermarkt's label.

Four beach-friendly groovers that never stray above the 100BPM mark. Bass boosted by the pair for extra warmth and sounding beautifully crisp around the edges.

It's hard to decipher where the originals stop and TGFA take over, such is the effortless and smooth nature of these edits! Heavy with soulful vocals as they traverse boogie, Balearic, and disco-soul stylings. It's another essential offering from the paradisical label.

Berlin producer Jack Tennis is the mastermind behind a lot of projects. He releases his own music under the name Hotlane (signed to Gomma Records) and spreads his sumptuous disco edits for the influential disco label Midnight Riot (run by Yam Who!), Spa In Disco and Too Slow To Disco.

The 4 tracks on this EP are regular floor fillers in DJ Supermarkt’s DJ Sets and are reassuringly groovy, emanating positive vibes right off the wax and touched up with a tastefully smattering of modern sheen. The source material is also satisfyingly lesser-known, with none of the four tracks on offer here immediately obvious to me.

Undeniably suited for outdoor play across beach bars, garden parties and BBQ smoke-outs; it's hard not to have a smile on your face and wiggle in your hips when these joints drops. Recommended!

Matt says: Slow-mo disco, looped up and served to perfection on a lovely 10" platter. Jack Tennis is the perfect chef. You'll feel like you're eating fresh seafood off your favourite coastline with VIP tickets to the party later... Whiff the calamari!
