In God We Trust - 30th Anniversary Edition

Originally released on February 2, 1993 and celebrating its 30th Anniversary.

Lead MC Grand Puba left the group to pursue a solo career in 1991, following the release of their revered debut One for All. DJ Alamo also left to work with Puba, leaving MC's Sadat X and Lord Jamar, who enlisted DJ Sincere to join the group. It was a safe bet that In God We Trust wouldn't have attempted any new jack swing crossovers or tie-dyed imagery. Though the makeover is drastic, it is convincing, with Lord Jamar and Sadat X stepping up with some of the era's fiercest, most intense rhymes and lyrics that were extremely militant reflecting the group's identity adhering to the philosophy of the Nation of Gods and Earths.

The album produced two singles, Punks Jump Up to Get Beat Down and Love Me or Leave Me Alone which both charted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

        House Of Pain

Fine Malt Lyrics - 30th Anniversary Edition

"Tommy Boy Records celebrates 30 Years of House of Pain's debut album House of Pain (Fine Malt Lyrics) with this remastered, limited-edition release. Everlast, DJ Lethal & Danny Boy formed House of Pain while attending high school and were signed to Tommy Boy Records after fashioning themselves as rowdy Irish-American hooligans, hitting the local rap & alternative music scene.

House of Pain (Fine Malt Lyrics) went multi- platinum and the self- titled debut album spawned the successful producer DJ Muggs, who produced the single "Jump Around".

The song was also remixed twice by Pete Rock, one version featuring a verse from him and one without. "Jump Around" became a hit in 1992, reaching number 3 in the United States. A 1993 re- release of the song in the United Kingdom, where the initial release had been a minor hit, peaked at number 8. "Jump Around" was featured at position 580 on Q Magazine's "1001 Best Songs Ever," number 24 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 90s," number 66 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop," number 325 on Blender's "500 Greatest Songs Since You Were Born" and number 47 on NME's "100 Best Songs of the 1990s." The song is popular among dancehall DJs and is widely regarded in the United Kingdom as a club classic.

The album also featured Cypress Hill member B-Real on "Put Your Head Out" and Funkdoobiest's Son Doobie on "House and the Rising Sun", both members of the musical collective Soul Assassins.

Q magazine "… their music is of the dense, hard- hitting school of hip hop...the group have absorbed black rap's musical lessons and create a satisfying platform for their above average deliveries..." The Source "…a very solid and at times exceptional album...imagine if Licensed to

Ill wasn't an upper middle class Jewish thing but rather a working class Irish thing...the atmosphere is like that of a cross between a frat party and a bar room brawl..."

The Band are from Williamsburg, Brooklyn, by way of Boston. Some albums are like a party in a box – put it on the stereo and you know you're going to have a good time. Plushgun's "Pins And Panzers" bounces in to the room, passes out the glowsticks, hands you a beer and tells your ass to dance. The pumping synth lines are a perfect foil to Daniel Ingala's sensitive wordsmith tendencies that work to create addictive indie-pop with a bittersweet edge. Plushgun is the brainchild of Daniel Ingala and grew out of the cramped confines of his overpriced and undersized bedroom in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. After creating the song "Just Impolite" and posting it to his MySpace page, the project quickly took off with songs featured in the web-TV series "We Need Girlfriends" and rising to #1 in the Alternative Rock Channel on Ourstage.com. When he was ready to start playing live shows, Ingala recruited his friends Taylor Armstrong and Matt Bogdanow. Plushgun are addictive indie-pop with a bittersweet edge that you can dance to.
