SUBWAX BCN

Widely considered one of the hallmarks of dub-infused electronic music, as well as an endless resource of inspiration and awe for generations of electronic music artists and enthusiasts, Vibrant Forms II by Fluxion is now being reissued by Subwax Bcn. Originally released on Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald's revered Chain Reaction label in 2000, the many calls for a reissue of this cavernous remastered masterpiece has finally been answered by the Barcelona imprint.

Shorelights is a collaborative ambient techno project feat. Rod Modell (Deepchord, Echospace, Waveform Transmission, Transformations), and Walter Wasacz and Christopher McNamara of the Detroit-based audio visual collective nospectacle. Ancient Lights expands the vision and the range of the Shorelights aesthetic, heading into deeper territories of inner and outer space. It's ambient for body and spirit, sound designed to make the human heart dance. Limited Copies...

Absolutely stunning, Detroit's Rod Model donning his Deepchord guise once again and rebuilding these breathtaking Fluxion tracks into two sublime dreamscapes. Instantly identifiable through Rod's genius, "Multidirectional I" gels itself to a rootsical, dub-tech kick before allowing wavy synth sharps and pluming pad presets to envelop the track; making for a thick and heady number that keeps us grounded deep into the Earth's core.

"Multidirectional II", conversely, flutters and weaves through a twinkling celestial haze. A mischievous and heavenly sprite dancing in between forgotten star clusters and solar flares.

Modell's delicate but inspired touch is brilliantly conceived as the both gentle and forceful undulations of Fluxion are moulded into a new template.

Vibrant Forms III Part 3 Of 4

Konstantinos Soublis aka Fluxion introduces the third part of his seminal dub techno opus, "Vibrant Forms". This, the third installment of the monumental series comes sixteen years after "II", released on Chain Reaction and carries on the themes explored in the previous two outings - loss of perception and the collection of audio tales to form one complete story. "Vibrant Forms III" is released as both a CD and across four twelves, this one being part 3. "Tortile" commences proceedings; a bouncy, bassy number perfect for pitch black warehouse spaces with cavernous reverb, the big B-line swiftly becoming the focus of track as quick but subdued rhythms permeate from the mix. "Autonomous" growls and hums with a nice low end buzz, galloping beats riding under a low frequency shelf. "Gradual Approach" returns to the echo chambers, for a radiant, skitty and highly luminous mid-paced track perfect for warming up the club before a heavy session. It's another winner from this new Fluxion series, cementing it as one essential slice of dub techno musica.

Vibrant Forms III Part 4 Of 4

Konstantinos Soublis aka Fluxion introduces the third part of his seminal dub techno opus, "Vibrant Forms". This, the third installment of the monumental series comes sixteen years after "II", released on Chain Reaction and carries on the themes explored in the previous two outings - loss of perception and the collection of audio tales to form one complete story. "Vibrant Forms III" is released as both a CD and across four twelves, this one being the final part - 4. "Contact" is thick, heads down, narcosis techno. Its hefty beat complimented beautifully by this angelic, swelling pad motif which adds a crystalline wonder to the track. Killer stuff this, surely coming to a dock off warehouse space to you this Winter! "Variant" is a bleak, icy killer. Plumes off bass frequencies, low end rumble, electromagnetic static and shards of white noise bloating from its orifices and slowly but steadily a caressing, healing wash is introduced. It's end of a thoroughly stimulating journey, perfect for healing minds and soothing bodies. Dub techno fans - you need this in your life! Beautiful!

"Prospect" marks the first of salvo of classic Fluxion reissues. Long out of print and originally released on Chain Reaction in 1999/2000. Some tracks have never been released on vinyl before! Essential dub techno masterpiece that laid the groundwork for a complete musical movement - often imitated but never beaten! Side A is given to two phases of "Prospect" - the very epitome of a gravity defying floatation device of complete cushioned bliss. As reverberated element bounce around the stereo field rich, delicate analogue artifacts prick the sense and permeate through the soul, only to be further enhanced by rich but balance bass frequencies occasionally bubbling from beneath. On the flip "Oblique" demonstrates the much used dub-techno skank that would typify much of Basic Channel and Chain Reaction's output. Somehow managing to give both a nod to the Rasta's and to the techno heads over the course of just a simple hypnotic loop! I guess it's that kind of intangible magic that made these records so sought after. Highly sought after dub techno history - don't sleep!
