SOUNDS OF BEAUBIEN OUEST

New record by Jesse Futerman who's been active since around 2011 on a variety of different labels. I have to admit, I didn't really know what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised when I heard the pulsating, slow and tectonic movements emanating off the wax. Deep house in sensibility but exploring both neo-tropical environments through an intriguing sound palette of luminous textures and a wide-screen frequency response. It does, inevitably, burst into moments of charging house glory, but doesn't overuse these special moments; instead keeping us on tenderhooks until the next flurry. If, like me, you're new to this exciting Montrealer then this is a wonderful introduction! Get stuck in!

STAFF COMMENTS

David says: House doesn't come any more blissed out than this. The kind of record you put on as the sun's rising over the dance floor. Brilliant.
