Talking Heads: 77 - 2024 Reissue

Talking Heads first LP "77" introduced the New York band perfectly. A mish mash of art-punk-funk, with heavy doses of bubblegum and a splash of the Caribbean. 11 tracks which show off the bands varying influences, David Byrne's weird vocal delivery, and the constant tempo changes and twists in their style. You can hear hints of the moody side of their sound on tracks such as "New Feeling" and "Who Is It?", contrasting with the jolly funk of "Pulled Up" and "Uh Oh Love Has Come To Town" all of this is augmented by the albums standout "Psycho Killer", a brooding slice of paranoid punk that still sounds fresh today.

    Hot Hot Heat

    Happiness Ltd.

Hot Hot Heat release their third album entitled "Happiness Ltd.", The album is the band's first since 2005's "Elevator". Hot Hot Heat began writing new material in January 2005 the very day they launched a globe-trotting tour to support "Elevator". 'We wanted this record to be written on the road', says the band's co-founder and frontman Steve Bays, 'partly so the influences would be more varied, but also so we could test out the songs live before we recorded them. We wrote music everywhere, Spain, Japan, Australia, the UK, so each song has a different mood'.

      Less Than Jake

      Anthem

Less Than Jake's first album for major label Sire; "Anthem" is their most commercial yet. That's not saying it's bad - it's really good actually, and no band has worked harder to satisfy their fans than Less Than Jake, even signing a mooning fans arse in this very emporium. A lotta dosh has gone into making the sound just so and producing the 16 illustrations in the booklet which were provided by top underground artists (who are probably all mates with the band - that's what a major label budget's for after all).

        Ramones

Loud, Fast - Their Toughest Hits

Ramones compilation compiled by Johnny Ramone. This limited edition version, includes a bonus disc, live in London, featuring eight previously unreleased songs.
