Blonde Redhead

The Shadow Of The Guest

The Shadow of the Guest is a new limited-edition release from Blonde Redhead, following their acclaimed 2023 album Sit Down for Dinner, and out on October 24, 2025. Pressed on black vinyl and hand-numbered, the record features newly expanded versions of “Before,” “Rest of Her Life,” and “Via Savona,” recorded with the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. It also includes reimagined versions of the viral favorite “For the Damaged Coda,” including a beautiful mariachi-inspired take, as well as a collection of ambient ASMR tracks crafted by Kazu. Dreamlike, intimate, and a slightly surreal, The Shadow of the Guest offers a fresh lens on the world of Sit Down for Dinner and beyond, inviting listeners to tap into the sense of wonder and childlike emotion that run through the band’s work.

King Princess

Girl Violence

'Girl Violence' is the third album from New York artist King Princess (Mikaela Straus), marking her most personal and unapologetic work to date. Written after walking away from a long-term relationship, a major label deal, and a city that dulled her spark, the album captures the chaos, clarity, and catharsis of starting over.

Across bold pop anthems and intimate confessionals, Straus explores the nuanced, messy and magnetic dynamics of loving women. The result is a record that’s emotionally feral, sonically fearless, and deeply self-assured.

Since her breakout with '1950' - a Platinum-certified anthem with over a billion streams - King Princess has carved out a singular space in modern pop. On 'Girl Violence', she turns the page, taking full creative control and delivering her most striking and uncompromising vision yet.

Eterna

Debunker

Following a handful of self-released singles, EPs, and a full length album (Wardrove) in February 2023, Eterna returns with his new album, Debunker, arriving January 31st 2025, his first with section1. Debunker probes further into the questions posed on Wardrove while departing into new realms, at once totally familiar and altogether new.

STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: Skittering percussion and propulsive bass guitar, woozy vocals and gloomy production instantly recall the moody hum of post-punk but bursts into bright, melodic choruses and huge shoegaze-adjacent passages. Paradoxically, hugely complex and intricate while coming across as easy and lo-fi make for a beguiling and constantly evolving listen.

Various Artists

Piano1

'piano1' is the first in a series of solo piano compilation albums curated by section1. 'piano1' shines a light on the beauty and the power of piano music, and straddles the lines of contemporary classical, experimental, and ambient music. Each artist was given two creative guidelines to follow: the piano has to be the main instrument featured in the composition, and the composition must not feature any vocals. We wanted the raw emotions in each song to be maintained, and for listeners to hear the joys, the sadness, the doubts, the certainties, and the uncertainties. 'piano1' is as much about showcasing the artists involved as it is showcasing the piano as an instrument, how different artists approach their creative relationship with the instrument, and how, depending on an artist’s approach, the same 88 keys used by each can produce such drastically different sounds, moods, etc.. The hope, all the while, was to create an album that accommodates many levels of listening attention (be it active listening, passive listening, or somewhere in between), while inducing calm and creating a space to think. As much as possible, we wanted to make this record as an invitation to the listener(s) into that space. There’s a greater understanding and appreciation now (more than any other time during our lives) to slow down and heal, to seek out the calm wherever you can find it, and to embrace it. Research has shown us (thank you, science) that music, especially with a slower tempo and minimal harmonious melodies, can help lower our cortisol levels (the body’s primary stress hormone), reduce heart rate and blood pressure, release endorphins, and help promote a state of calm and relaxation, creating a more balanced and centered state of mind. What better place to find that “calm” so many of us seek than in a 12 song compilation of musical pieces composed and performed by some of today’s most gifted artists?

Soft Power was recorded and produced by Amelia herself and explores themes of devotion, fierce self-compassion, and matured self-awareness.

Soft Power follows Fazerdaze's 2017 cult classic debut Morningside and 2022 Break! EP, which were praised by outlets including Pitchfork, MOJO, The Guardian, and more.

Blonde Redhead

Sit Down For Dinner

Blonde Redhead return with ‘Sit Down for Dinner,’ their first album in seven years and debut for section1. Its title a nod to the often-sacred communal ritual of sharing a meal with those you love, this immersive, meticulously crafted album appropriately serves an expression of persistent togetherness, a testament to the unique internal logic Blonde Redhead have refined over their three-decade existence.

Understated yet visceral melodies charge each song, creating a foil to lyrics about the inescapable struggles of adulthood: communication breakdown in enduring relationships, wondering which way to turn, holding onto your dreams. Ultimately, ‘Sit Down for Dinner’ lands as perhaps the strongest record in a catalog that’s already as illustrious as it is varied.

STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: A woozy mix of melodic pop melodies atop shifting progressive instrumental backdrops, taking in classic psychedelia and ambient electronica in equal measure. A beguiling and sensitive selection, particularly the eponymous duo of tracks. Lovely.
