Lily Allen

It's Not Me, It's You

At last! After touring, breakdowns and chat shows, Lily Allen finally returns with her second long player, "It's Not You, It's Me"! Produced and co-written by man of the moment Greg Kurstin, this is a fantastic, sparkling pop-with-a-capitol-P set. While this new session of songs has ditched the reggae and some of the rough edges of "Alright, Still", there's still plenty of the quirky elements here that made Lily Allen such a breath of fresh air back in 2006. With everyone in a quest to find an antidote to 'landfill indie', and slavering over the new (female) pop sensations, it's good to see Ms Allen back with us and at her witty and acerbic best.

    Turncoat

Wasted On You / There Must Be Something

The latest release from the Regal Singles Club, comes from Brighton four piece Turncoat. "Wasted On You" kicks off as a sort of doomy pop song, along the lines of The Editors, but as it progresses it morphs into an almost Brit-pop-esque number as it bounces along nicely with heavy chugging guitars and yearning vocals, before winding down to and eventual stop. Once again Regal seem to have unearthed a pop gem.
