    Meat Beat Manifesto

Subliminal Sandwich - PIAS 40 Edition

Meat Beat Manifesto’s 1996 follow up to ‘Satyricon’ was a more experimental album, relying more on ambient textures with fewer samples and moving away from traditional song structures.

Written and produced by Jack Dangers, ‘Subliminal Sandwich’ is more of a solo effort than its predecessors, featuring the singles ‘Nuclear Bomb’ and ‘Transmission’ and a cover of ‘Asbestos Lead Asbestos’, originally by World Domination Enterprise.

One of Fact magazine’s 50 Best Trip-Hop Albums Of All Time; “Tricky-esque trip-hop, blissed out atmospherics, industrial hip-hop beats... jarring, infectious... the perfect party tape for the oncoming apocalypse.” - NME (8/10)

                Meat Beat Manifesto

                Impossible Star

Meat Beat manifesto formed in Swindon in 1987 by Jack Dangers (MBM's only permanent member) and "Impossible Star" is the first full length album in over seven years from the seminal electronic band. Minimal, textural and cinematic in scope, Impossible Star follows the music innovators deeper into more experimental territory. Impossible Star is a layered exploration of sounds and rhythms.

MBM's consistent musical invention has led to all forms of electronic musical experimentation over its 30 year history, from jungle to techno to industrial to dubstep to jazz fusion. Its long string of influential futuristic classics includes such groundbreaking tracks as "God O.D.", "Strap Down", "Psyche Out", "Helter Skelter", "Radio Babylon", "Edge of No Control" to "It's The Music".

Manchester's Manifesto haven't got many chords to play with, but their sunny take on low key 60s guitar pop ambles slowly forward like a ballad, whilst "Stuck In The Mud" sounds a bit more like it's got a Beatle in its back pocket. The style is attractive and the melodies promising. "Secrets & Lie's" and "Everyone Tells Me I'm Lazy" are two acoustic tracks which tells a story that is easily accessible and straight from the heart! And finally "Far Away" has the mix of Setting sun-Chemical Brothers and Fire Starter by The Prodigy a great overall sound and a tune to dance the night away!!

                  Streetlight Manifesto

                  Everything Goes Numb

Featuring members of Catch 22, "Everything Goes Numb" is a natural progression of Catch 22's "Keasbey Nights", showcasing not only energetic horn parts and fabulous harmonizing vocals, but intelligent lyrics focusing on the angst-ridden lives of young adults. This is a hugely anticipated album in the ska-punk underground – an unparalleled fusion of ska, jazz, reggae, swing and punk. For fans of Catch 22, Sublime, No Doubt and Less Than Jake.
