Harmless Chaos

Terminal 11

Having been an influence on Love Love during its infancy, Arizona based sonic meddler Terminal 11 is welcomed into the fold and not a moment too soon. Maintaining an overall extra-terrestrial form he explores the limits of FM synthesis, dynamics and poly-rhythms achieving what can only be described as a wholly individual sound. Despite the alien exterior, found within this release is a real humanity that emerges from between the sharp fragments of percussive noise and glistening dissonant melodies.

Ranging from what could be seen as some of his most accessible material, to some of his most chaotic and free-flowing, Terminal 11 pays attention to the most minute detail with the precision use of acutely polished drum programming and carefully weighted sub frequencies.

With classic releases under his belt on Cock Rock Disco and Hymen Records, ‘Harmless Chaos’ is a welcome addition to an already diverse and celebrated back catalogue.

    Ruby My Dear

    Basic

Ruby My Dear, aka Julien Chastagnol, is a producer, songwriter and live performer who fuses melodic electronica, IDM and jungle to create a highly inventive and musical brand of breakcore. His tracks mix dream-like atmospheres and haunting melodies with sharp, complex rhythms, to take the listener on a constantly evolving journey through his unique sonic universe.

Julien started his Ruby My Dear project back in 2010 with the release of his DJ Shadow’s “Building Steam with a Grain of Salt” remix, out on his own label, Reconstruction Productions. Now, four years later, he has produced 8 EPs on both Peace Off and Acroplane and 2 full length albums on Ad Noiseam.

Performing live is also a large part of Juliens arsenal. He brings his intricate production to the stage to rework his studio pieces so naturally that it seems effortless. He is captivating and engaging to watch on stage as he blends sonic beauty with live energy.

Julien Chastagnol returns to Love Love on tip top form with a 12” containing some of his most acute acid material to date - a concise collection of 4 tracks that convey Ruby My Dear’s most high-octane dimension.

Each track displays a complex manipulation of its fundamental elements utilising sharp shocks, whirlwind processing and the occasional moment of respite; all racing along at a breakneck pace. A glorious full frequency assault.

From beyond the rings of Saturn and travelling at speeds faster than light, Henge are a collective of aliens united by a mission to save planet Earth. Their debut EP Cosmic Dross is an introduction to their universe.

'Unit of Power' provides a sparse, murky opening before blasting-off into smokey psychedelia. 'Humans' is a crash-course history lesson about the inhabitants of planet Earth sounding like something Monty Python might make while taking LSD. The dripping acid lines of 'Venusian Apocalypse' ooze funk while rephlexion chords bleed over splutterings of wisdom, spoken in their native tongue of Venusian. The fury of 'Jupiters Wild Ride' smashes like a comet with shrieking synths colliding and tarantino-esque guitar licks, ricocheting to a cosmic peak before climaxing with Puck Funk, a high-octane cliff-hanger for their journey so far. One small step for Henge. One giant leap for mankind!
