Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt

Moby has released a new single and video for “Like a Motherless Child,” from his forthcoming album Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt. Featuring LA-based soulstress Raquel Rodriguez, “Like a Motherless Child” is a re-work of the well-known spiritual, with its origins in the slavery of the American South. The track describes the void left when one feels separated from a parent, higher power or similar guiding force. Over the years this powerful song has been reinterpreted by the likes of Odetta, Lena Horne, Mahalia Jackson and Van Morrison. The album is a glowing tapestry exploring spirituality, individuality and the brokenness of humanity and finds him returning to his orchestral, soul, trip-hop and gospel roots.

Are You Lost In The World Like Me

Limited 12” Vinyl featuring four remixes of cuts from the Moby & The Void Pacific Choir album “These Systems are Failing”. Blanck Mass adds his own twist to ‘The Light is Clear in my Eyes’ whilst Nava Ryan, Zarva and Moby (the man himself) remix stand out track ‘Are you Lost in the World Like Me?’

Taking inspiration from Max Fleischer’s iconic animation of the 1930’s, Moby & The Void Pacific Choir (in collaboration with Steve Cutts) today released the music video for “Are You Lost in the World Like Me?,” a light-hearted look at alienation, modern dystopian living, and the collapse of our species.

The video was directed and animated by critically-acclaimed illustrator Steve Cutts who says, “For me the video is about our increasing dependence on technology and about human interaction today, or a certain lack of it. It focuses on the way tech is changing us - how we have become desensitized.”

Moby adds, “A few years ago I saw Steve Cutts ‘Man’ video and was amazed and blown away. I did some internet sleuthing and found his e-mail address and humbly asked him to make a video for me. And, lucky me, he agreed.
