'Thieves' is a document of Kelly Doyle’s 30 years as a musician steeped in country, jazz and ‘50s exotica. Marked by freedom and restraint, he showcases his ability to unreel, flex, tease, cajole, inundate, and revel within the bounds of a single work. Composed for saxophone and guitar, 'Thieves' offers an interplay of timbres that brings delicacy to complex melodies—tethered by unflinching bass and drums.
