King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

The Silver Cord

The Silver Cord', King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard's 25th studio album is a full-hearted and purposeful embrace of electronic equipment and electronic music in its own right.

The Silver Cord comes in two iterations, the 1LP Standard Edition is a shorter, more condensed version, where the 2LP Extended Mix sees every song pushed toward the 10min mark and beyond.

The 2LP edition also comes on a deluxe mirror board gatefold jacket and both editions are housed in a premium printed thick brown outer sleeve.

PetroDragonic Apocalypse; Or, Dawn Of Eternal Night: An Annihilation Of Planet Earth And The Beginning Of Merciless Damnation

King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard announce their 24th album, PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation.

It is the group’s second full-length album excursion into thrash — following 2019’s Infest The Rats’ Nest — though, as you might expect, PetroDragonic Apocalypse is no mere retread of Rats’ Nest’s gory glories, but rather a full evolutionary step all of its own.

      Butterfly 3001

"We’ve put off doing a remix album for a long time. Maybe it was conscious, maybe it wasn’t. But it’s happening now. That’s not to say that Butterfly 3000 makes the most sense to remix. It might seem like the obvious one, but it’s not. Yes it’s electronic. But so is a fridge. Have you tried to dance to Butterfly? It’s hard. It ties your shoelaces together. It’s duplicitous in it’s simplicity. But Butterfly 3001 expands on this. It also deviates and obliterates. We’re honoured to have such esteemed people go to work on these songs. We hope you love this album as much as we do. See you in DA CLUB!!!" - Joey Walker

        L.W.

The album follows the recent January 2021 release of single 'O.N.E.' and the band's sixteenth studio album K.G (the second volume in the band's previous explorations into microtonal tunings), as well as Live In S.F. '16 (ATO Records), a live album recorded during the band's 2016 U.S. tour stop at San Francisco venue The Independent. As the band enter their second decade – and their frontman still only thirty years old - the creative future of the band, as showcased on L.W., promises to be bolder, madder and more imaginative than ever.

          STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: They just keep going don't they? Fortunately, their artistic integrity and ability to write a tune hasn't been sacrificed at all with 'L.W' being possibly their most pronounced mix of dancefloor funk, groove and sludgy indie yet. It's more down the psych-funk route than some of their heavier numbers but is as ever, wildly inventive and quintessentially KGLW.
