The first of a two-part set, extended versions taken from Joe Claussell's "Iboga" LP which featured nine tracks influenced by the traditional west & central African iboga ceremonies.
Hallucinatory house music rich with African percussion and multiple layers of transcendental elevation. I have to say, this brings back golden memories of his Amadou Et Mariam remix - utilizing African vox and busy, jam packed arrangements encompassing a wide range of instrumentation and rhythms. Of course, we experienced this first time round with the LP earlier in the year - but here the tracks get the kind of extension and extra treatment we associate with the iconic Sacred Rhythm 12"s - long playing with extended durations and mastered brilliantly for vinyl.
