Isis

In The Absence Of Truth - 2026 Reissue

Continuing the series of Isis reissues, 'In the Absence of Truth' is the band’s 2006 release, remastered by James Plotkin.

The album expands upon the group's previous full-length, 'Panopticon', further exploring lead singer Aaron Turner's clean vocals (though his former techniques, which relied more on screaming and growling, are still present as well). Musically, the album is dynamic, ranging from extended musical ambience to almost tribal drumming. Isis continued their lengthy songwriting; 'In the Absence of Truth' is Isis' longest record, at almost 65 minutes.

Isis

Wavering Radiant - 2026 Reissue

Continuing in the series of Isis reissues, 'Wavering Radiant' is the band’s final and 2009 release, remastered by James Plotkin.

The album was produced by Joe Barresi, and the band split just over a year after its release. The album continues Isis' history of lengthy songwriting, yet presents a slight departure from the soft-loud dynamics and post-metal aesthetic which characterized previous releases. It is widely considered the band’s most accessible release in their catalog.

Mclusky

I Sure Am Getting Sick Of This Bowling Alley

Mclusky are a band who were a band, weren’t a band, then are a band again. they formed in the late nineties and unformed, for the first time, in 2005, after three albums, opinions of which can be found on the internet.

The path to re-becoming a band started in 2014, with the band playing sporadic shows to raise money for a local venue threatened with closure and after some misadventures, which can be put down to life in its most wonderful forms, in 2025 they released their first record in twenty years, and now in 2026, they continue with more new music in the form of this 6-song mini album.

STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: Melvins and Napalm Death, all in the room smashing out some truly collaborative behemoths, resulting in an album that has all of the intensity of both bands but with an interesting melodic middle ground that could ony have sprouted from such an interesting clash of styles.

Dälek

Brilliance Of A Falling Moon

Experimental Hip-Hop legends dälek return with their latest full-length album, 'Brilliance of a Falling Moon'. Taking its name from a section of Erik Larson’s 2011 novel In the Garden of Beasts, the album paints a fiery portrait of life and resistance in fascist America.

Conceived, composed, and produced by Will Brooks (aka MC dälek) and Mike Mare, 'Brilliance of a Falling Moon' is a sprawling, uncompromising record that speaks to the political timbre of the day. Recorded in the group’s Deadverse Studios over the course of 2024 and 2025, 'Brilliance of a Falling Moon’s beats are propelled by brutal, dust-caked drum breaks and cloaked in an ominous, otherworldly atmosphere. Taking aim at everything from the State’s suppression of information to colonialism and Trump’s demonization of immigrants, Brooks’ rhymes are practically burning with outrage at the current state of the world.

dälek debuted in 1998 with 'Negro Necro Nekros', a sonic tour de force built upon thunderous drums, blissful ambient sections, and gritty, insightful lyrics. On watershed albums like 'From Filthy Tongue of Gods and Griots' (2002), 'Absence' (2005), 'Abandoned Language' (2007), and 'Gutter Tactics' (2009), dälek laid a template that added completely new textural and structural dimensions to rap music.

Mclusky

The World Is Still Here And So Are We

The heralded UK band’s first album since 2004 and first for Ipecac Recordings.

Having formed in the late nineteen-nineties and releasing music, if that is what it was, from 2000-2004, Mclusky disbanded soon afterwards in a slow motion farce of not enough drama to get much press off the back of it. Now they are back fuelled initially by spite but now enjoying it too much not to do it, and playing to crowds in the UK, US and Australia which are much bigger - and more hygienically inclined - than in their so-called heyday. So far nobody has complained, except for one guy in Leeds (and he was clearly on ketamine). They are writing a new album - entitled 'the world is still here and so are we' due for release in may 2025.

Dead Cross

II

When Dead Cross released their self-titled debut in the Summer of 2017, Mike Patton, in conversation with Rolling Stone, said “I’m not some young tough guy trying to prove a point anymore. For me to make a record like this, it’s entirely a musical adventure. I just think it’s fun, and it makes me smile a lot.” Visually, and audibly, Dead Cross is a snarling beast from some of music’s most experimental and dare we say, hardcore, musicians: Dave Lombardo (drums), Michael Crain (guitar), Justin Pearson (bass) and the aforementioned Patton on vocals, but at its core it’s a group of friends having fun, paying homage to the music they love and asking music fans to come along for the ride. It’s that very friendship that brought the band members back together once again and gave us II, their new release out Oct 28th, 2022.
