Lower Slaughter

Deep Living

Since their last full-length release back in 2019, Sussex noise-makers Lower Slaughter have spent several years quietly simmering and regrouping behind closed doors, plowing through a reshuffle of personnel, but always keeping a constant eye on the future; working sporadically on new material and focusing towards the next phase of the group’s existence.

Following the departure of long-time vocalist Sinead Young, their surprise return in 2024 saw the remaining former members unveil a new line-up, welcoming James Gardiner to the fold on bass, and with previous bass player Barney Wakefield switching over to vocal duties. Upon Gardiner’s addition, a considerably more expansive sound has emerged, bringing the band’s now recognised output of what the Quietus once referred to as ‘lurching noise-rock’ to new exciting heights, all the while set against an equally more confident and expansive dynamic, reinforced by the chemistry of Graham Hebson and Jon Wood, who remain tighter than ever on drums and guitar respectively.

Their brand new album ‘Deep Living’, recorded and mixed by long- time collaborator and prolific music engineer Wayne Adams (Petbrick/Big Lad) and mastered by Sam Grant (Pigsx7/Rubber Oh), sees the group firing on all cylinders and kicking the door open with new business to set!

Along with taking over on vocal duties, Barney has taken the helm of sole lyric writer - a role he’s eagerly grabbed with both hands, drawing inspiration from personal experiences and trauma as an initial canvas to explore other themes and emotions, so as to reflect a broader universal state of mind, rather than an inner monologue or self-referential journey. Subsequently, the album’s overall lyrical arc is of navigating one’s path from fear and unknowing towards light and comfort, revealing the complexities of life in both it’s darkness and it’s beauty, whilst also separately touching upon historical events, pastime folk-lore, ancient prophecies and political unrest.

Brighton based charitable label Human Worth have pressed up a limited edition run of stunning ‘Deluxe Deep Blue’ Eco Mix vinyl, housed in a beautiful sleeve featuring the photography of Nick Gripton. 10% of all sales proceeds donated to charity The PANDAs Foundation – a trusted support service for families suffering with perinatal mental illness.

    Klamp

    Totaal Techniek

Human Worth are proud to present the killer new album from Klamp, now featuring members of Idles, Sex Swing, Tall Ships, Manatees, Do Me Bad Things, Pulled Apart By Horses, Petbrick and Mugstar, with a portion of all proceeds donated to charity.

Klamp is a formidable musical collective with members scattered across the UK and the Netherlands. Since their raw and antagonistic 2020 release "Hate You" on God Unknown Records, Klamp has undergone a significant transformation. The 2025 incarnation of the band presents a vastly evolved force. Their latest album, "Totaal Techniek," released on Brighton based charitable Human Worth, is a testament to their artistic growth and exploration. The album traverses a broad range of genres, seamlessly blending elements of Krautrock, Breakcore, Industrial, and Post Punk. Each track is a new journey, characterized by an innovative sound and intricate musical textures.

A key aspect of KLAMP's evolution has been their ever-expanding roster of collaborators. The original lineup of Jason Stoll (Sex Swing / Mugstar / JAAW), Lee Vincent (Pulled Apart by Horses) and Greg Wynne (Manatees) have been joined by Adam Devonshire (Idles), Matthew Parker (Tall Ships), Rachael Morrison and Wayne Adams (Petbrick / Big Lad) along with other collaborators, helping to develop the sound into a new space both beautiful and bleak, harsh and euphoric – sometimes all at once. This openness to collaboration has infused their music with fresh ideas and new energy, ensuring that no two performances or recordings are ever the same. Their live shows are particularly notable for their intensity and unpredictability, offering audiences a mind-bending lesson in musical exploration and emotional depth.

KLAMP's music is a haven for fans of eclectic and avant-garde sounds. Listeners who appreciate the sonic intensity and experimentation of Swans, the sharp, angular rhythms of Parquet Courts, the post-punk edge of The Fall, and the genre-defying beats of DJ Screw will find much to love. Similarly, those drawn to the lush soundscapes of My Bloody Valentine, the industrial grit of Einstürzende Neubauten, and the atmospheric depth of Low will resonate with KLAMP's work. The cinematic influences of John Carpenter and David Lynch, combined with the raw power of Nine Inch Nails and Sonic Youth, the electronic pulse of Front 242, the minimalist punk of Wire, and the epic crescendos of Godspeed You! Black Emperor, all find a place within KLAMP's diverse musical universe.

In essence, Klamp is not just a band but a continually evolving collective that pushes the boundaries of music. Their journey from a three-piece to an innovative seven-piece ensemble, making them one of the most exciting and unpredictable acts on the scene today.

      Cassels

      Tracked In Mud

Tracked In Mud’ comes three years after the Cassel’s critically acclaimed album ‘A Gut Feeling’. Close to burnout from heavy touring, the brothers Beck returned to their Harringay warehouse practice space. Jim, tired of his last record’s overtures at pop culture, got very into Converge. New songs came: heavy, and weird.

Gone are the sharp-tongued character sketches, replaced with a heady cocktail of philosophy and body horror. Ditched, too, are the flirtations with mid-aughts indie rock and electro. On ‘Tracked in Mud’, we’re treated to something bigger. Wilder. More…elemental. This is a record about humanity’s disconnection from nature, after all.

When the time was right, the Becks brought in Alex Petersen – aka Nyquist Noise, aka avant-rock demiurge Vincent Vocoder Voice –to produce the new record, for the first time since their debut EP. After two weeks of isolation, the three emerged with ‘Tracked In Mud’: a soundtrack to life in the final days of an arrogant, technocratic hellscape.

Ushered in by the honking of geese, punctuated by field noise, ‘Tracked In Mud’ is an album at odds with society, routine, and otherman-made things. It bludgeons you with boulders, invites you to float like mist across meadows choked with weeds – presenting athrilling vision of what heavy music can be.

        Sly & The Family Drone

        Moon Is Doom Backwards

Human Worth are proud to present Sly & The Family Drone’s killer new album ‘Moon Is Doom Backwards’, with a portion of all sales proceeds donated to charity. Moon Is Doom Backwards, made almost exactly three years ago at Larkins Farm, is a patient, stalking, lurking thing. A properly noir thing, as notable for its long stretches of quiet atmosphere as it is for its pummeling skronk. Sly’s is a strange sort of quietude, though. A "drums heard through the wall", "disquieting electrical hum" kind of quiet. An "eavesdropping PI", "solo sax on rooftop" sort of quiet. An attention-grabbing kind of quiet so engrossing that, when our fave neo-jazz wrecking crew actually gets to wrecking - and they still wreck real good - we’re caught off-guard, wrong-footed, defenseless. We get run the hell over by The Family Drone’s quintet of bulldozers. The restraint on display here is something else. The band’s approach is more measured than ever, rendering disruptions of their meticulously crafted sonic spaces all the more meaningful. Those sonic spaces contain the architecture of countless cult horror flicks, B movies, midnight screenings, and cable access shows. It's leather and street gangs and switch blades. Total dark side Leonard Bernstein stuff. Human Worth have pressed up a limited run of ‘Glistening Green' Deluxe Eco Mix Vinyl, housed in a stunning package featuring the art of percussionist Kaz Buckland, with a portion of all sales proceeds donated to charity. ‘Moon Is Doom Backwards is the real deal. Sly & The Family Drone are the real deal. Smash that "buy now" button.’ – Bernie Brooks
