Live At Hampden Park

Gerry Cinnamon, an already legendary live performer, made history last summer after selling out Scotland's national football stadium twice over to become the first independent act - and the first Scot - to sell out multiple nights at Hampden Park. A year on, the definitive live album from the multi-platinum singer/songwriter will be released on 14 July 2023. "Well that was a trip and a half. Played all sorts of gigs all over the world but that was something else. Over 100,000 of us. Music is a magical thing that connects people in a special way. History made. Memories made more importantly. Felt the Hampden roar right in my chest and it was mighty." - Gerry Cinnamon. The homecoming shows concluded his 350,000-capacity UK and Ireland tour, originally due to happen in 2020, instead taking place across 2021-22, also included sold out shows at Birmingham and Manchester Arena, London’s iconic Alexandra Palace, the 25,000 capacity Malahide Castle, Dublin, and Musgrave Park Stadium, Cork.

    STAFF COMMENTS

Barry says: There's no way you could ever argue that Mr. Cinnamon doesn't have a good thing going, with his most recent tours breaking records all over the place, the peak of which was at Glasgow's Hampden Park. Crosbie's vocals are on fine form, and his execution of these souped-up folk ballads makes it all the more impactful. A great document of a stunning live run.

      The Bonny - Definitive Edition

After ‘The Bonny’ went straight to Number 1 in the UK and Ireland in April, like everyone else, Gerry had to reschedule his 2020 dates until next year. With over 200,000 tickets sold in the UK and Ireland, he was preparing for his biggest ever tour, one of the biggest in the UK, firmly establishing him as one the top live artists in the country. And he was making waves abroad, set to tour in the US, Australia and throughout Europe. With all that on hold until 2021, he took stock and kept creating with more new music expected next year. The Bonny is already the third biggest selling UK album released in 2020 and the Definitive version also includes new recordings of two fan favourites that can finally be included on an LP.

“Been waiting a long time to get those tunes back,” explains Gerry, “Should have been on the first album but that's what happens when you trust the wrong people.Ghost was written around the same time as Kampfire Vampire, Fickle McSelfish, and Roll the Credits so it’s good to have them all on the same record.”

Ghost is classic Gerry and illustrates why he has become one of the most popular artists in the UK and beyond – lyrics sparking rich imagery, reminding the listener of their own life, while deftly telling his own story (“turn into a ghost if you want to disappear, cry tears for someone else some place where I can’t hear”). Anthemic hooks melt with bittersweet sentiment. Certain fan-favourite, Ghost is made for those days when we are all back together and singing our hearts out alongside him.

        The Bonny

Gerry’s eagerly anticipated second album ‘The Bonny’ is out on his own Little Runaway label.

“It’s probably not smart to release during a lockdown when the shops are closed and everyone’s isolating but no chance I’m letting folk down. Never gave a fuck about numbers anyway not gny start now. Albums out April 17”.

He’s already exceeded 115 million plays at Spotify, including the recent singles ‘Dark Days’ and ‘Sun Queen’. Everything that Gerry has achieved has been done entirely independently via his own label Little Runaway. It’s the result of making a connection with fans in the purest way. His songs tell relatable stories which have captured the imagination of audiences up and down the country. Gerry makes a habit of whipping the audience into a frenzy which sees them leaving on a high and wanting more!
