Let It Roll - Songs Of George Harrison - 2025 Reissue

Over a period of decades, George Harrison earned a reputation as one of the most enigmatic and creative individuals born to rock and roll. As was the case for every former Beatle, George’s disentanglement from the group identity was slowed by the world’s abiding and sometimes-obsessive love for the Beatles as a singular entity. But, as the 1970 release of his epic 'All Things Must Pass' revealed, here was a man with a story all his own. Songs like 'My Sweet Lord' and 'What Is Life' were tucked into a vast collection that remains one of the great works of the album era. Today George is remembered as one who followed his passions to remarkable conclusions, a man of paradox whose unusual balance of spiritual devotion, wry humor, and true compassion touched the lives of many.

George Harrison : Behind The Locked Door

As a Beatle, Harrison underwent a bewilderingly compressed early adulthood, buffeted by unprecedented levels of fame and success. After Beatlemania left him unsettled and unfulfilled his became a quest for deeper meaning which traveled far beyond the parameters of his former band and indeed music itself. This elegant, in-depth biography tracks him assiduously through his many changes and conflicts, from schoolboy guitarist to global superstar, God seeker to independent film-maker, Formula One enthusiast to UNICEF Fundraiser, and marks the perennial struggle of a man attempting to walk a spiritual path lined with temptation. Drawing on scores of new interviews with close friends and collaborators, rigorous research and critical insight, George Harrison: Behind The Locked Door is the ultimate account of the motives and varied achievements of an often misunderstood man. It is also an intimate character study, beautifully illustrating the eternal yin and tang of Harrison's nature; the definitive account of a compelling, contradictory life.

      Electronic Sound - 2025 Repress

As a direct result of the Beatles’ keen curiosity about experimental music and other avant-garde artistic expression, Apple Records launched its short-lived Zapple subsidiary in February 1969 as a forum for unfettered sonic exploration, or, as announced at the time, “more freaky sounds". George’s 'Electronic Sound' and John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s 'Unfinished Music No. 2: Life With the Lions', both released in May 1969, were Zapple’s only releases before it was closed down. 'Electronic Sound’s cover art, painted by George, depicts his Moog IIIp (which was later used on four tracks by the Beatles on their album Abbey Road) with the four modules from which the sound was synthesized. Each side of the 'Eletronic Sound' LP featured one exploratory long-form work.

It was Harrison’s first album release on his Dark Horse record label. Upon its release, Billboard said, “[it’s] a sunny, upbeat album of love songs and cheerful jokes that is [George’s] happiest and most commercial package, with least high-flown postures, for perhaps his entire solo career. ”

Released in November 1968, George Harrison’s 'Wonderwall Music' was the first solo album released by a member of the Beatles and the first LP to be released by Apple Records. The soundtrack music for director Joe Massot’s debut feature-length film, Wonderwall, the predominantly instrumental album is an intricate, vibrant tapestry of western rock music and compositions in an Indian classical style. In 1992, George recalled, “I decided to do it as a mini-anthology of Indian music, because I wanted to help turn the public on to Indian music. ” Three bonus tracks have been added to the remastered album: 'In the First Place' by Liverpool group the Remo Four, who played the rock elements of the recording sessions, a previously unreleased alternate take of 'The Inner Light', and the previously unreleased 'Almost Shankara',  a raga that was not used in the film or for the soundtrack LP.

Living In The Material World - 50th Anniversary

Living in the Material World, George Harrison’s highly praised 2nd solo album of original music following The Beatles’ 1970 dissolution, recently marked its 50th anniversary. With lyrics underscoring his enduring exploration of spiritual themes, the album resonated deeply with audiences. Just 5 weeks after its May 1973 release, both the LP and its single ‘Give Me Love (Give Me Peace On Earth)’ held the top spots simultaneously on the US album and single charts. Upon release, Rolling Stone described it as a "pop classic", a work that "stands alone as an article of faith, miraculous in its radiance." Lovingly overseen by Dhani and Olivia Harrison, Living in the Material World has now been completely remixed from the original tapes for a stunning suite of 50th anniversary releases. Remixed by 3x GRAMMY® Award-winning engineer Paul Hicks, the new mix elevates the album with a sonic upgrade, delivering a sound that’s brighter, richer, and more dynamic than ever before.

                        Philip Norman

George Harrison : The Reluctant Beatle

From the author of the million-copy selling Shout!: The Beatles in Their Generation and the bestselling John Lennon: The Life comes a revealing portrait of George Harrison, the most undervalued and mysterious Beatle. Despite being hailed as one of the best guitarists of his era, George Harrison, particularly in his early decades, battled feelings of inferiority. He was often the butt of jokes from his bandmates owing to his lower-class background and, typically, was allowed to contribute only one or two songs per Beatles album out of the dozens he wrote.

Now, acclaimed Beatles biographer Philip Norman examines Harrison through the lens of his numerous self-contradictions. Compared to songwriting luminaries John Lennon and Paul McCartney he was considered a minor talent, yet he composed such masterpieces as 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' and 'Here Comes the Sun', and his solo debut album 'All Things Must Pass' achieved enormous success, appearing on many lists of the 100 best rock albums ever. Modern music critics place him in the pantheon of Sixties guitar gods alongside Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards and Jimmy Page.

Harrison railed against the material world yet wrote the first pop song complaining about income tax. He spent years lovingly restoring his Friar Park estate as a spiritual journey, but quickly mortgaged the property to help rescue a film project that would be widely banned as sacrilegious, Monty Python's Life of Brian. Harrison could be fiercely jealous, but not only did he stay friends with Eric Clapton when Clapton fell in love with Harrison's wife, Pattie Boyd, the two men grew even closer after Clapton walked away with her.

Unprecedented in scope and filled with numerous colour photos, this rich biography captures George Harrison at his most multi-faceted: devoted friend, loyal son, master guitar-player, brilliant songwriter, cocaine addict, serial philanderer, global philanthropist, student of Indian mysticism, self-deprecating comedian and, ultimately, iconic artist and man beloved by millions.
