CAM SUGAR is proud to release for the first time ever on vinyl the complete soundtrack of Carlo Lizzani's masterpiece, 'Storie di vita e malavita' (1975).The stories evoked by the title are based on the real investigation carried out in Milan a few months before the filming by journalist Maria Rusconi, whose aim was to investigate and denounce underage prostitution. Morricone comments on the crude news stories staged by Lizzani with a theme that immediately assaults the listener, through its stubborn and edgy progression. The title track immediately echoes the tones of 'Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto' (1970, Elio Petri), combining the grotesque with a hallucinatory and impactful timbral and orchestral violence. There are also flashes of bossa, dark marches and jazz-funk colourations typical of the 1970s crime genre. All tracks, with the exception of the track already included in the 'Morricone Segreto' compilation (ëVita e malavitaí), are unreleased in any format.

For A Few Dollars More - 2024 Reissue

In 1965 the previous year’s film “A Fistful of Dollars” by Sergio Leone, thanks to its success, had already helped to codify and massively increase the popularity of the ‘spaghetti western’ genre, together with the one the two lead actors Clint Eastwood and Gian Maria Volonte. “For a Few Dollars More” is the natural prosecution of that movie, with the addition of a third protagonist – Lee Van Cleef – who joins the already mentioned two actors: a triad that made history, for another masterpiece Sergio Leone’s masterpiece. Ennio Morricone’s music is equally important. The Maestro here chooses a ‘poor’ registry, consisting of folk instruments such as ocarina, Jew’s harp and chimes, respectively used to accompany the entry stage of the three main actors. But there are, as usual, the contributions of Alessandro Alessandroni and his Cantori Moderni choir, for an incredibly exciting final result. This edition sees the eight tracks of the original score in a brand new layout.

La Donna Della Domenica - 2024 Reissue

La Donna Della Domenica (Sunday Woman) is a 1975 Giallo movie, an Italian/French co-production directed by Luigi Comencini and starring Marcello Mastroianni, Jacqueline Bisset and Jean-Louis Trintignant. The soundtrack of this film, composed, orchestrated and directed by Ennio Morricone, enjoys the typical elements of the Maestro's style, At the time, only a single 45rpm was released for “La Donna Della Domenica”, including the main theme and “Torino Di Notte” as the B-side, and only in 2008 the full score has been finally released on CD; This is therefore the very first vinyl version of this soundtrack! Audio remastered by Claudio Fuiano.

Senza Sapere Niente Di Lei (Segreto #5) (RSD23 EDITION)

THIS IS A RECORD STORE DAY 2023 EXCLUSIVE, LIMITED TO ONE PER PERSON.

Senza Sapere Niente di Lei (1969, Luigi Comencini) is one of the first scores composed by Ennio Morricone for a Giallo film, just ahead of the great season of the cult Italian thrilling genre forged by Dario Argento. 12" yellow 1LP, gatefold Morricone's score has never been issued on vinyl. It is one of his most ethereal scores, with a sweet and delicate theme unfolding in a lullaby to the rhythm of a valzer. Think lounge-jazz to experimental music. The final result is a sensual and suave sound that matches the quintessential morbid style of Giallo cinema

This exclusive Record Store Day Limited Edition of Morricone's score to "The Blue-eyed Bandit" has been remastered from the original tapes, preserved in the historical CAM Sugar archives, presented on transparent blue vinyl with new original artwork designed by Eric Adrian Lee, featuring liner notes by Italian poliziotteschi star Franco Nero & Morriconeís jazz pianist Enrico Pieranunzi One of the very rare chances, and quite possibly the only chance to listen to the genius of Ennio Morricone engaging with the musical world of jazz. His soundtrack for the film The Blue-Eyed Bandit (Il Bandito Dagli Occhi Azzuri by Alfredo Giannetti, 1980) is marked by a relentless rhythm that perfectly matches the atmosphere of the film. The film was shot in Genoa ñ one of the most iconic cities of the Italian detective (poliziottesco) film genre ñ and stars Franco Nero, one of the leading stars of the whole genre. The main theme, Citt‡ Viva, is a vibrant and metropolitan piece, beautifully arranged for big band + trio of soloists, hand-picked by Morricone himself; his friend and collaborator Enrico Pieranunzi (piano), Roberto Gatto (drums) and Riccardo Del Fra (double bass) This is one of the very few times in which Ennio Morricone, who was famously suspicious of jazz improvisation, asked his musicians to be free and improvise, adding their solos to the original structure ñ the solo viola of Dino Asciolla, one of the greatest violists of all time, in particular stands out.Restored & remastered from the original tapes, preserved in the historical CAM Sugar archives. Record Store Day special exclusive, limited edition transparent blue vinyl Featuring liner notes by Italian poliziotteschi star Franco Nero & Morriconeís jazz pianist Enrico Pieranunzi. Pastures Of Plenty

Originally written and released by Woody Guthrie in 1947, this cover version of “Pastures Of Plenty” by Pete Tevis – a Californian folk singer living in Rome in 1962 – was arranged by Ennio Morricone. A few years later, Sergio Leone wanted Morricone to score his up and coming western called A Fistful Of Dollars. Legend has it Morricone wrote some music, Leone hated it. Morricone then played him this old single. Leone wanted this music but with a new melody over the top. The rest is film music history.

This is the first ever repress of this hugely important single since 1962. Originals copies are mythical to say the least.
