Hey Mr Ferryman is Mark Eitzel's tenth solo album, his first in three years, and the first full studio album recorded entirely in London. It was made at 355 Studios with Mercury Prize winner Bernard Butler (Suede, McAlmont & Butler). Butler produced and played all of the electric guitar, bass, and keyboard parts on the album. Hey Mr Ferryman features the vivid melodies long associated with Eitzel's former band American Music Club as well as Butler's distinctive guitar that serves to complement Eitzel's expressive vocals. Of that voice, Pitchfork once wrote: "If Leonard Cohen's voice is a story about the passage of time and Levon Helm's is a story about losing what is most precious to you, Eitzel's is about the circuitous roads we take in search of ourselves." Mark Eitzel has released over 15 albums of original material with American Music Club and as a solo artist. The Guardian has called him "America's greatest living lyricist," and Rolling Stone once gave him their Songwriter of the Year award.

Barry says: Eitzel goes from the serene to the triumphant between one song to the next, the brilliant balladry of 'In My Role As Professional Singer And Ham' and the easy listening morose indie charms of 'An Answer' providing a soaring and stripped-back counterfoil to the more rocking pieces like the brilliant 'Mr Humphries'. A brilliantly balanced, and eminently listenable delight. Brilliant.

You Can't Go Back If There's Nothing To Go Back To

Richmond Fontaine's songwriter, Willy Vlautin says of the album "This record was written for all the guys we know who have hit the wall, are about to hit the wall, or are in the middle of slamming into it, It's a record about paying the price for the way one's lived. All of us in RF are at the age where the bill starts coming due for the decisions we've made along the way."

Recorded and produced in Portland, Oregon by John Askew at Flora Studios, YOU CAN'T GO BACK features the stalwart lineup of Sean Oldham on drums, Dan Eccles on guitar, and Paul Brainard on pedal steel. Freddy Trujillo (The Delines) joins on bass for his first recording with RF, and longtime friend Jenny Conlee (The Decemberists) plays keyboards with former bassist Dave Harding contributing some guitar after a move to Europe. While the atmosphere is familiar the songwriting is Vlautin's strongest to date matching his lyrics in depth.

Ltd LP Info: Deluxe LP edition - 180gram black vinyl, Gatefold sleeve, download voucher (album tracks) & a bonus CD with 7 exclusive bonus tracks (3 acoustic demos , 2 new acoustic songs , 1 reworked instrumental, 1 unreleased instrumental). Limited pressing - 500 copies worldwide

Décor Records presents the second album by Sacri Cuori "Rosario". Sacri Cuori's sound has elements of Ennio Morricone, Nino Rota, Piero Piccioni, Calexico, Ry Cooder and Tom Waits (some of his band perform on this album), John Convertino (Calexico), Stephen McCarthy (Long Ryders) and JD Foster (Green on Red) at the helm producing with Antonio. Think Spaghetti Western soundtracks crossed with desert rock and a bit of Nancy and Lee thrown in.

An operatically tragic tale is told in Richmond Fontaine's tenth studio album, The High Country. More than a concept piece, the Portland, Oregon four-piece have crafted a song-novel, in which a gripping tale is spun with fully fleshed-out characters, changing scenes, snippets of radio and spoken word passages. It's a spectacularly unique album housed in a digi-pack with full 8 page colour booklet.

Richmond Fontaine's frontman, Willy Vlautin, is a published novelist whose 2006 debut, The Motel Life, has just been turned into a major motion picture directed by the Polsky Brothers and starring Dakota Fanning, Stephen Dorff and Kris Kristofferson.

With Richmond Fontaine's latest album, he's combined that story-telling prowess with his songwriting gift to stunning effect. From stark, romantic ballads and dialogue sequences to raw Northwest garage rock and cinematic songscapes, this album sees Fontaine's musical trajectory soar far beyond their cowpunk roots, ably assisted by producer John Askew.

Darryl says: More top quality Americana from Richmond Fontaine, with their tenth album. It's a bleak but absorbing tale that's spread across its 17 tracks, a 'tragic tale opera' if you like.

        Thirteen Cities

"Thirteen Cities" is Richmond Fontaine's 7th studio recording and their first album to be produced at the famous Wave Lab studios in Tucson, Arizona. It follows 2005's "The Fitzgerald", the last in a trilogy which featured "Winnemucca" and "Post To Wire" all of which Uncut magazine called 'Masterpieces' and two of which were Album Of The Month. "Thirteen Cities" features contributions from Calexico and Giant Sand's Howe Gelb, while retaining Willy's dark lyrics many of the songs are more upbeat and the band is fully back. Recording in Arizona has also given the album much more diverse instrumentation with accordions on the stirringly beautiful instrumental "El Tiradito" a horn section on the opener "Moving Back Home # 2" and organs, mandolins.

          Cane 141

          Garden Tiger Moth

Having previously been compared to The Go-betweens, The Chills and Palace Brothers, they've gone in a slightly more electronic, post-rock direction with this new album.
