Crosby, Stills & Nash - 2023 Reissue

The first release from the folk-rock supergroup was a wild success, bringing together members of Buffalo Springfield and The Hollies in Crosby, Stills, and Nash after a meeting at a Laurel Canyon party.

Their self-titled debut, featuring the famous cover photo by Henry Diltz, features their trademark harmonies and guitar work, as well as memorable classics from "Marrakesh Express" to "Suite: Judy Blue Eyes," "Helplessly Hoping" to "Wooden Ships," all of which became canon of the folk-rock foundation that drove the cultural sea change out of Lauren Canyon in the latter half of the 60s.

      So Far

Originally released in 1974, CSNY’s first compilation album So Far highlights the group’s first two critically acclaimed and highly successful albums; Déjà Vu and Crosby, Stills & Nash. After David Crosby left The Byrds, Stephen Stills’ band Buffalo Springfield had broken up and Graham Nash had left The Hollies; the trio formed one of the first, and still to this day greatest, supergroups. Under the same CSN, they recorded the band’s debut album Crosby, Stills & Nash to real fanfare. It shot the group into superstardom, culminating in a Grammy award for Best New Artist in 1970. Previously also part of Buffalo Springfield, Neil Young joined the band as their fourth member and the result was the band’s opus, Déjà Vu; a folk-rock classic. The album is revered to this day, consistently included in best albums of all-time lists in the media. So Far includes tracks from both of these albums, as well as the highly popular non-album single Ohio, alongside its’ B-side Find The Cost Of Freedom

        Crosby Stills & Nash

If you know and love this all time classic already, then you may be tempted by the superior sound and artwork, or the four extra songs, three of which are previously unheard. One, their seemingly impromptu yet meltingly delivered cover of "Everybody's Talking" is worth the entrance fee on its own! If, on the other hand, you've never heard this music, think melodic, stoned, warm, groovy, daydream folk rock. It was an album which perfectly resonated with its times (late 60's) and you can still feel its glow, 35 years later. A total classic!
