Celestial Echo is back with another funky bomb on 45, a hyper-rare track that only came out on demo from the label Midland International, The Medlows “Love (Part 1)" has been a secret spin for a lot of soul djs. A real favourite of label boss miche - he just featured it on his latest comp even, but this 45 is backed with a dancefloor ready extended edit from Bristol disco king Admin.

This has to be some of the heaviest soul to ever be pressed and kept in the shadows, once it’s in your record bag, it wont be leaving in a hurry.

Founded in 1956 by Mrs. Carmen Murphy, HOB wasn't just a label — it was a beacon. From the basement of her beauty salon on Detroit’s West Side, she ran one of the most important Black-owned gospel imprints of the 20th century. At a time when both the music industry and the country were stacked against her, Mrs. Murphy built a sanctuary for soul — a Black woman-owned business and creative hub in volatile times. Originally released on the independent Americom label, the LP flew under the radar in its day but has since become a secret weapon for DJs with a taste for the modern soul & disco sound.

This 7-inch vinyl features the dancefloor hitter, 'If You Believe Your God Is Dead, (Try Mine),' backed with the soul-soothing 'He's Sweet I Know.'

Originally recorded during their golden era in the early 70s, this has to be some of the funkiest gospel to ever be pressed, once it’s in your record bag, it wont be leaving in a hurry.

Originally released in 1982, this disco classic has remained a favorite among many discerning DJs and has kept dance floors moving for years.Recorded in New York in 1982 with producers Dennis Williams and Joe Webb, this track became Lisa Hill's only release.Now officially licensed and presented on 12-inch vinyl, the reissue features a reimagined company sleeve, updated labels, and pressed and remastered on heavyweight vinyl for an authentic analog experience.

More Modern Soul madness from the team at Celestial Echo. No Stranger To Love is one of those rare tracks that crosses over both Modern and Northern scenes & has long been a favourite of collectors and selectors with original copies regularly changing hands for £100 + on the second hand market.

This lead to the synth laden funk track being picked up by Dam Funk & the Stones Throw crew, who shone a new light on the track via online mixes which has only increased the demand.

Officially reissued for the first time in 40 years and as always, officially licenced and remastered by Celestial Echo Records. Needless to say, buy or cry.

Matt says: Modern soul from '89 that'll set you back over a ton for an original. Thankfully this repro 7" sounds just as slick, with that punchy bass and fizzy stabs complimenting the suave vocals by Glenda beautifully. Top drawer stuff.
